I've been wondering about this for a while and I understand the whole debate on the Unseens and why we can't have them and the legal mess that would be involved but what about mechs like the Marauder II? With enough changes (though similiar) in the appreance of the mech would it be possible to bring this mech in the game? I really want this mech because A. It was the best mech in the IS before the invasion and B. This mech was mostly used by the Wolf's Dragoons in which I represent.

they recently said on a chat on kotaku that they do not have licsense for unseens...however no on followed up and asked about them having liscense on the reseens or the Project Phoenix meks.
as for the second line clan meks (IIc's) they in pretty much each case look nothing like the unseens.
though i doubt many would want to pilot them as most of the clanners on these forums are test tube babies and would not be cuaght dead in a surat freebirth secondline ride.

2 things, one on topic one off topic but related to your initial post,
considering we already have a hundred ton assault mechs, and the marauder would really only be an upsized k2, I think it would be unlikely for the Marauder II to show up. at least not til a lot more mechs that aren't represented by current loadouts make it into the game.
second, you don't actually represent Wolf's Dragoons. Canon units such as the dragoons will not be player controlled. You unit may be stylized on Wolf's Dragoons, but they are not the actual Alpha Regiment of Wolf's Dragoons.

1. You in no way "represent" any canon unit, and I'm really glad you will never be able to do this in MWO!
2. Even if they are allowed to bring the Marauder II, it's still too much resembling the unseen original, so same problem there. I hope they can find a solution and Alex Iglesias can work some wonders.

Uhh, what I meant is I will be representing the WD's by playing the Merc Unit, not controling them myself, as all of us will be part of a faction/Merc Unit. We will be a "Sub-Unit" within the WD's when the game is released so playing as close to cannon is our goal.
Also, I do understand that the Atlas is our 100ton mech, but i'm betting that we will eventually get more then 1 type of mech in each class and since the Marauder II (Not the IIc) was very important in canon, and it being a II, I was wondering if the same rules applied. The designer could easily make it a chunkier version of the orginal Marauder while looking cooler and more correct since the original's only difference was wings on the side torso's and a bigger gun on the center torso.
