I got all the basic efficiencies unlocked for 1 Jenner variant...
I recall reading that I should get a "pilot point", but as far as I can tell nothing has changed.
Am I missing something?

You buy 2 other different Jenner variants and unlock basic on them too. After you do that you get to unlock elite. Once you have elite on all 3 you can do Master.
I'm doing Atlas first and it's a ***** to farm 9-11m for each one.
Edit:
You can go sell your extra Jenners when you are done getting Master. You can re-buy them and they will still have the same skills but if you won't play them it's okay to sell them.

Well its not really explained anywhere imo but I think you will need to get 2 other Jenner types and work the proficiencies on those. Basically for the elite skills you will have to have "mastered" the Jenner in all kinds of variants.

I've read this in a bunch of places:
I think this means I should get the ability to purchase 1 type of module and put it in the Jenner module slot. The "master" tier says +1 Modules, which implied to me that Master grants you the ability to use a 2nd module.
So neither of these statements are correct? Or are these features that haven't been implemented yet?
A Module is unlocked by gaining efficiencies in a particular BattleMech’s Mech-XP Tree. When a single Tier for a given chassis is complete, the player earns 1 Player Point.
