I was playign the game quite happilly for a few days, then patched it yesterday.

After this I get " a network error occured " after entering email and psw into launcher screen. Error occurs almost immediately.

So far I have tried totally uninstalling, reinstalling, reboot multiple times, and creating a new account.

No joy.

I dont think its realted to the Nov8 hotfix.

I still get the error network error occured.

My new motehrboard arrived today, so I did a completely fresh Windows 7 install. And to my Horror, same error ! So I am sitting on 500$ of new hardware bought to play the game and no way to play it, gutted does not even begin to cover it.

So I fired up Wireshark and had a look at what ws occuring. I see about 30 packets go back and forwards on http port 80 and port 49892 from 70.42.29.74

I am not going to post entire network packets as I don't know how well my details are encoded, but I do see that tries the omicron login service.

You may want to move this to the support forums where you may get more responses.

Solved ! I turned off my router firewall COMPLETELY - this resolved the issue. Hub was a virgin media superhub. Seems the new patch uses an additional port on the network that was blocked.

Installed patch tonight, Played 3 games and got a BSOD half way through a match. The first BSOD I have had in almost a year on this machine.

Pissed me off but no big deal i figure...

Turns out it wiped out my registery, Had to do a full windows install and get all my drivers back up to speed.

From surfing the forums I seem to be the only person with this issue so far but maybe i just reinstall windows faster than the average bear =)

Friendly FYI

I have had a few BSOD since the latest patch, and I have also had some cases where the computer just shuts off without any warning. Aside from MWO, I am not having any problems as this is a new computer. Event Viewer isn't showing me anything, Windows Memory Diagnostics found nothing, and HWMonitor shows the temperatures are all reasonable. PSU isn't high-end, but it's brand new and should be plenty to handle everything.

I was having the same problems a few patches ago, but it had cleared up until this newest one.

To me that says your power supply isn't sufficient. What is your system and what type/brand of power supply are you using?

To the rest....I doubt it is the game causing a BSOD, but it is probably the game trying to access something that could be causing a BSOD, such as a bad driver or a bad sector of RAM, etc. I would try and run a memory checker and/or a video card stress test.

To me it seems you're saying your PC was unstable and now it is again.
