Why bother? It's guasses will just get shot off way faster than the k2's gausses.

I remember reading similar things about Gaussapults being too slow, easy to kill with XLs, running out of ammo, and yet they are still the premier sniper build.

Yes, it will be more vulnerable than K2, but as a trade off it will carry one additional Gauss. Very deadly at range or if it sneaks up behind. Not to mention it can shoot things above or below him while the K2 can't.

We shall see but I predict the 'Phract will supersede K2 as the new Gauss boat.

Pointless poll is pointless. Most of the people who visited this thread... are Cataphract pilots.

It doesn't say Cataphract in the title. It may hint to it a little but there is going to be more then just a mech coming in on the 20th . People could have thought that I was talking about whatever else besides the Cat. So it wouldn't really be pointless.

3D and 3L will be costly, but around 13 millions. If I can afford it at launch i'll go for a 3D, otherwise I'll start with 1x, which uses reg engine and will probably be more affordable

Saving my C-Bills for the Jagermech, whenever it gets released. Might even use some of my MC for one. Until then, Catapult variants and Centurions.

It's not a chickenwalker, which turns me off to it, but if it's actually good and doesn't have to crutch entirely on weapons in the arms like the Centurion, maybe I'll consider it.

I've just been running Ravens and Cicadas as of late, because they're fast. Might try a Dragon if I don't like the Cataphract.

I figure I'll wait until people start whining about one of the variants being overpowered.

Then I'll buy that one.

I'm glad it's coming. The game needs a proper heavy brawler. Will I give up my much loved dragons?

No.

It'll take the Viking before I'll consider it ;)

Just gotta save up 17 mil for the good one

It won't be that much in this game. It'll probably be like 9 or 9.5

The 9M is 11.5 and it's decked out in advanced tech.

Torso projectiles > Arm projectiles

They just don't have arms working right yet. They'll probably be an advantage for ballistics eventually, but right now they just ruin your accuracy.

mark my words: this mech will be too easy to headshot - same as awesome - big chunk with oversized head hitbox located in CT ;)

The awesome is damn near impossible to headshot anymore, and I imagine they'll adjust the cataphract as needed.

I beg to differ on this. I am not the greatest shot by any means and I can usually headshot an about Awesome 3 out of 5 attempts using a Hunchback 4SP or 4P. I like others worry this will be the same fate for the Cataphract.

I'm an Awesome pilot, and I don't think you half your facts right. 4 out of 5 Headshot attempts end up in my giant *** torso. Which I have heavily armored. I'm rarely headshot'd, and it actually only ever happens in close combat. From far away you can't zero in on that small of target. It's more like luck, but I get nailed in the torso.

Before I would have agreed, but since they did a stealth hit box fix (I missed it if it was in patch notes), I have not had to worry about getting head shot. Helps that I'm in an 82kph 9m, but still I used to Head shot awesomes all day long...finding it much harder now. Not impossible...but like 60-75% harder to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And on a side note...

They should pretty easily be able to do Cataphract George...I think the only difference is a paint job and an ER large laser....

So very easy for them to do, and people will buy it. I'd get on it ASAP if I were the Devs. EASY MONEY.

I don't think there is any reference to it having jump jets, but if they fudged canon a little bit and added some to make it more appealing I be more then ok with that. 2x is one of my least favorite variants of the confirmed ones.

Not really. If someone is shooting at your arms instead of your CT theyre doing you a favor.

I'll probably roll with the PPC variant first. ERLL in the arm, Gauss in the torso, ML or SL for backup.

I plan on saving up plenty of c-bills so I'll be ready and able to buy it and kit it out as soon as it drops.
