Living Legends has many shortcomings, but the map design is AMAZING. I always thought PGI should try to hire the MW:LL guys. Most of the official LL maps would fit perfectly into MWO's style. As those maps already exist in the CryEngine 2, I'm wondering if one could convert them? Put in some new resources, textures, props and stuff? It'd be work, but those are some quality maps, that would come to shine if MWO's mechs stomped around in them...

Did you know, they DID hire one of them. His name is Alex Iglesias and he does concept art. I just wonder why they didn't hire more. Somehow I can't imagine they didn't try...

My thoughts? I wish more people play LL, the HPG server is always dead and the only multiplayer I've found through the browser was some angry Russians.

Making River City dark so we have to use the worlds worst set of night vision goggles (the fisheye effect is rubbish) whilst driving something that can not only hear but FEEL another Mech stomping around (yep, standard sensor package includes seismography stuff) doesn't change the fact that River City is itself tiny.

Frozen City Night... it's prettier than during the day yeah but it's still Frozen City.

Perhaps the problem is the 15min match timer but the maps need to be way bigger.

For real? he worked for LL before? What he did to those old mech designs is magic, while still keeping them instantly recognizable.

You're right, maybe they tried. And of course it'd lead to tension, as it would effectively kill the mod if they hired too many. Most certainly they are not gonna try to hire all of them... Still, the maps are top notch in LL. PGI could at least try to get inspired by them.

The only thing that speaks for the MWLL maps is the overall size and the gravity effects of this one space map.

Desperation is not quite necessary. This game is very new, already very good, and getting better. "Our" mental health is also not an issue. And while i admit that the maps are great in Living Legends, the rest is not my cup of tea (OP-tanks, ejecting in elemental-suits, 150 kph aerospace fighters...). Still, i respect what the mod team created and respect their community.

What exactly are you trying to achieve, floating around this forum, advertising another game? This is getting annoying. Just go play it. Last time i checked, your player numbers were stable. And try to respect our community.

Having 10 players and two devs online might be stable, but it's still quite, quite dead. We have more players randomly dropping into a game of MWO.

Even after the usual bots/AFKs/disconnects, there are still more players in an MWO game.

Maps are WAY to small. every map comes down to one of 2 things really.

3 line rush. G line rush.

The end.

We need maps that are about 8 times the size imho. At least 4 times what they are now.

As much as I prefer MWO to MWLL I must admit...
The MWO maps are decent, but the MWLL maps are very good.
