The entire time I was sitting there staring in my cockpit, all I could think about was this video. I wasn't even watching it and it made me laugh out loud. That's pretty awesome.

You're probably still better off in a hunchie if you want PPCs, but it was fun. The Cicada is really just there to go fast, any cicada build that does not go fast is usually better off as a heavier mech.

Take a Jenner (or Raven - nice standing beyond cover and firing because of top mounting, but arm/torso mounting not optimal). Put in 2PPC and an engine that you can go 75-85. Put in 6-7DHS.
I have a dmg rating of more then 250 in average for the last 20 games (fights only, without Cap races where total battle dmg <1000) with that design. You can even kill ECM ravens with "surprise PPCing". But dont expect to win 1:1 against anything that isn't badly damaged.
I may be better with the 6MedLas Jenner, but that PPC build is a lot more fun.
And no, with normal PPC it is not really that big a heat problem. Even in caustic you can fire 4 times (with the XP upgrades) in a row. You dont want to be visible longer then that anyway in a jenner
You are basically a medium support Mech with less protection but also less profile.
I prefer the Jenner because you can jump. Helps a lot if you are trained. Nothing makes a day like jump hitting an Atlas again and again with 20dmg. Frozen city has great cover possibilites for that design, esp. if you go a bit risky to the side. Jump, hit 'em in the side or back and disappear.

It was definitely fun! Although I used almost 0 armor.

I think builds like this are what Bryan was refering to when he talked about match damage to mechs due to overheating.

Doesn't overheat with every shot (55% on Tourmaline); Much greater sustained damage.
I kinda like the Cicadas now; they have a few silly, but effective builds like this. Like the AC/20 or Gauss 3Cs

The downside, other than being slower than an atlas and having a wet paper towel for armor, is that if you are ever just randomly seen and targeted, you won't last very long. It's a true glass cannon.

I enjoyed that as well. Anyone think that we can petition the devs to add that in during the shutdown animations?
