Bring in the "Unseen"...

Start with the Whammy and don't change it from the original! Make it look good and bring it back!

This is a plee from a guy who has used the Whammy in every MW game and it's always been my primary mech. If it's MW it must have the unseen mechs to really be MW.

Thank you, this has been a public service request!

I feal your pain. one thing i did to ease that is to make a mech with as close to the warhammers weapons as posable.
not the same i know but its something.

unless they can come up with a design that can stand up to a legal assessment and that's subjective i don't think we will ever see the unseen ever. The sad thing is the IP is just sitting doing nothing and had what 5 seconds of air time in the whole macross saga. i can see the wasp being more valuable since its the basis for the veratech fighters... but still why not try and make some money in a licensing fee.

the only way i can see us ever getting to use any of the unseen is in the form of hero mechs. in the WH case it'd be Natasha K.'s i would seriously pay 100$ for that. pay a fee to HG, that way harmony gold can get some blood money.

Maybe PGI should just buy the damn rights to Robotech and that way it's theirs to do with what they want.

Would be awesome if a fan based group started buying up all the rights related to battletech/mechwarrior and allowed the use of the ip freely, with voting from the group of course to determine if it a good idea for the franchise.

Example, BTFangroup LLC, this imaginary group, owns all the rights to everything related to BT/MW... PGI wants to make MWO, they ask if they can use the IP to make this game, BTFangroup LLC votes, majority in favor of course, and we say sure, go ahead. Not for money, but for the good of the franchise. Right acquisition would be freely donation funded and no money ever taken for allowing the rights to the BT/MW ip, just a majority vote from the group, which is free to be a part of, no donation required, just be a fan of BT/MW with a verified identity so there are no fake voters out there.

Clearly waaaay off-topic, but it something I have thought would be an awesome idea for a very long time and would prove to benefit the community far more than the rights being owned by a company purely interested in money... our fantasy world in our hands to collectively vote who gets to move forward with products we know and love.

The downside of course would be the purists and the newcomers, the IS'ers vs the Clanner, etc, all disagreeing on things. I would like to think that we are all (or at least most of us) adults that are capable of making nice with the entire group for the purpose of voting on things like that.

If HG actually were willing to sell off their rights, then North America would have plenty of Macross from Studio Nue.

But no.

HG are just giant jerks.
