Headshot Bug/hack?

Later on i died in several matches to headshots that seemingly killed me in 1 shot regardless of head armor last match i played in, i was 1 shot killed by a mech that was over 1000m away.
I'm just wondering if someone found an exploit or is somehow messing with the game. Its pretty frustrating to just fall over dead when your armor screen shows no damage at all.

I honestly doubt the whole 'headshot every single mech' business. How do you know those mechs weren't already damaged, someone else hit them at the same time etc? On different occasions I've walked into a group of mechs that were already damaged and 1 shot 3 in a row by coring and headshots. It's not that un-common.
Take a video next time. Bandicam works okay for me.

i have heard rumors but have not seen this happen in any of the games i have played, but i have seen people alpha someone in the cockpit.

when I'm using 4LLS or 2erppcs and 2 lls on my k2 that is exactly what I'm waiting for. Usually people get too focused on the target their aiming for and hold still, aiming for the right point, that's when you pop them in the canopy. I've gotten a few accusations of hacking myself because my damage isnt that high (around 450 or so) and i have around 4-5 kills I keep telling people you wont do absurd damage if you're aiming for the head... =/
Edit: That said there ARE hacks out there and aimbots

in 6 matches i had there was always 1 guy with 5+ kill
getthing 1 shoted with jenner while jamming with 140km/h over the map...
okay lucky i thought next match.. another guy ... 640m headshot while i was jumping to make a quick scout over an hill.. that dude did end up with 7 kills.. i saw 5 headshots from him while i was spectacting.
i wouldnt wonder if those guys wouldnt have a ping above 250 ? i mean headshots not that hard on big mechs if your ping is good.. but as higher your ping is.. its hard to hit even a chestpart of an atlas.
well since friday theres a fullhack for MW:O available it got dl over 1k+ times.. so yeah if you have avg. 1.500 players online.. i think you can easy guess the numbers of hackers.

I sense an extreme amount of exaggeration here, typical for this forum.

the underlined part is actually very common... some guys go full tilt in a STRAIGHT LINE until they notice the first contact then they bob and weave but head shotting an atlas is nigh impossible unless hes staring right down your weapon barrel

I have no problem hitting the chest of an atlas at almost any range......and my ping is always 250ms +.
I wonder if that was you the other night in that jenner,,,....almost the same thing, I knew what he was doing, lined up where he was going to pop up with his jumpjets as he did the exact same thing 2 times before....., and like clock-work he jumped up, and I killed him.

Can't remember what was said in chat, but it wasn't pretty....

Most of the time its not hacks its just good players.
I know I have killed a Jenner on accident with an AC20 to the cockpit as it flew through the air. He said I hacked. I got lucky.

That shouldn't happen, but I would suggest that maybe, just maybe, the hitbox on the head of an atlas is encompassing more of the area around the (Atlas' perspective) left eye-socket and having that count as a head shot. That may have always been true, but I have rarely seen an Atlas stay so still for the hits either. Other side of the head registers as CT, it seems.
