What?
We are talking about Overpowered through Money (Pay to win),not Overpowered through an single Mech balancing (technical) problem.

Are you sure you weren't complaining about p2w?

Issue is that the topic is pay to win, you have "ground" enough to have a heap of in game currency but are still having a tough time.

Not trying to be harsh, but bluntly even if you spent the money on a founders account or lots of MC, its not going to help your performance (>_<)

ie. NOT pay to win.

Heck, I have all four Founder's mechs and a team to play with, but the first 15 to 20 matches I ran was solo in a Trial mech to amass C-bills to make mods to the ones I owned. I still run a trial from time to time for quick cash.

Eventually, their match making system will link up new people against new people (presumably mostly in Trials). That will negate the "advantage" being complained about.

I havent earnt a single cbill yet because i'm always wiped out by a paid mech!

The only "paid" mech so far is the Yen-Lo-Wang. All others are bought with C-bills or purchased early with cash.

The cash only hero mechs and founder mechs have no real advantage besides a boost in c-bills and exp.

In other words, it is most certainly not pay to win.

By the way, you ALWAYS earn c-bills per match unless you are in a catapult or atlas and fail at using it, and I doubt you have either of those yet. Trial mechs have no repair bills or ammo bills so they are pure profit.

No. While the purchased mechs do have the advantage of being customized, they follow the exact same build rules as the trial mechs. Almost all mechs can be purchased with C-bills you earn in game. It might take a while, but it can be done.

What you're seeing on the battlefield has more to do with experience than with superior mechs. When I first started playing I had much the same feeling. I was dieing horribly every match it seemed. But as I played more I got better and now I can win some of them.

Don't give up, you'll get there.

Right now it does seem like pay to win. The matchmaker is crappy. You have new public players in trial mechs up against pre-made teams with fancy equipment. If it generated matches based on c-bill value of mechs and operator mech experience, new players would fare far better.

Dear Sir, even if you lose in a trial mech, you still earn c-bills. You Sir, are a liar.

You are Wrong!
Pay To Win = evry Gameplay-Advantage you got with Money (not only).
In many F2P-Games, you only need Money for Fashion,etc..

As you said: You pay money to cut down the time it takes to grind = faster better Items with Money!.

You really do not know what you are talking about.

Making the non-required choice of buying a mech to circumvent grinding does not give you an unfair advantage. The trial mechs have every thing you would get if you bought a mech. You just do not want to put in the time to play the game. Considering how much you are crying 'pay to win' I am inclined to think that your not very good. Having a mech that you can modify will not change that. You can not buy experience. Other than paying a mercenary to fight for you that is.

Experience is what you need to start getting more wins. Or a better kill/death ratio if that is all you care about.

The only true impediment to game play is a lack of integrated voice in the game.

As for trial mechs, they are not bad if you know how to use them.

How has the matchmaking anything to do with pay to win ? Anyway - it may seem that way but it isn't.

And PGI is working on a better matchmaking system. It is known.

NO.

Not Pay2Win.
You can still own in a trial mech - its up to the pilot.
And everything CAN (yes everything) can be brought with Cbills. If anything, MC gives you EARLY ACCESS to be able to buy a few new mechs, or sell them and get some Cbills to buy gear you want right away.

Not Pay2Win.
Exactly the same - just one way is going to take longer.

Besides, giveing PGI some of your money will only further the development of MWO.
Now whats bad about giving $10-15 for that??

Did you get it out of your system? Good.

This thread has been derailed so many times it's rather pointless.
