In order to counter ECM, I fitted a TAG on my LRM-boat.

When I TAG an ECM-protected bot, he does appear visible with an arrow above his head, but it is not possible to target him for real (Even if I press R).

Sometimes I saw my cursor doing the "locking-on" animation, but I never saw the square around the target, nor his name, mech model, or health status.

TAG seems to be broken, or terribly under-powered.

TAG is inherently imperfect as a counter to ECM because TAG can only pick out one unit in the ECM bubble, while all other units inside the ECM bubble are still protected. Plus, TAG requires effort on the user to utilize (has to be aimed and a button pushed), while ECM does not (it's always on). The extra effort will mean that the TAG user will have their ability to do other actions reduced, while the ECM user will not.

untrue... my actions are in no way reduced...i for my part have the tag weither in my ssrm goup or in one of my lasergroups...it´s just a system that works while i do other stuff...

and, TAG is meant to paint ONE target...it works as it´s meant to work... it´s not there to negate the bubble, but to be able to logg a target within the bubble...

It happens very often to me, if not systematically. Maybe this is linked to the number of ECM covering the target?
Do you often play in 8 players premade groups?

I agree TAG bring somewhat less benefits for 1 ton+1 energy slot, than ECM that only require 2,5 tons. Plus, TAG being an active system, it always require a bit more effort.
But then, what would you suggest to counter ECM? "Bring more ECM to counter ECM" just isn't right. Improving TAG, creating a special ECCM module, or breaking down the ECM global effect into multiple modules, I believe are the best solutions.

that part is a bug, think the system doesn't 'go to next target' because it thinks there isn't any.

btw, you have heard tag will get a 750m range.

I heard. Increasing the range is a good thing. Will it be enough? I don't know. Unless I fight in Caustic valley, I hardly ever fight past the 400m range anyway. And even on this map, it's hard to maintain a line of sight at 700+ meters.

More range is a good thing, but iI don't think it's enough.
