So it occurred to me that while I think the game is great that you can get reward for spotting Kill assists and so forth. The really glaring hole in this array of "skill" based awards is that of sheer survival against the odds.
We get a Kill bonus for kills why not allow the canny player whose side loses (important point here BTW) get some credit for staying alive when all or most of his buddies lost it and died.
Now I realize some folks will take a few pot shots and run and hide if this came in. But mostly I am thinking of those pilots whose Mech is pretty shot up who if this were a true simulation would try and evade to fight another day. Perhaps you can only get an evasion/survival bonus if you are alive at battles end when your team loses and your Mech is showing critical damage maybe?
What do you think good people? He who fights another day... ?

Because this would do exactly as you said, people who saw the battle was being lost wouldnt even try to help and cost the team a possible comeback.

There should be a bullet sponge award for being taken down to just your CT and legs because you soaked damage from all locations

Ever since I found out about my stats I've been playing to stay alive. Rather I play to make kills, but if my sides are gone, and my armor shot up, I find a nice quiet spot to power down. especially when I'm looking at 0-5. We've lost. Clearly.
Still I think this 'rewards for staying alive' thing will come into play when they implement ejection (the big red button on the top right of your chair)
Whether it's an actual button or just an on-death mechanic though, I'm not sure.

And such play wouldn't get the award as per my post. My thought is for a mechanic to award a small acknowledgement to those that played as a real Mech Warrior would in a desperate situation. Surely thats possible somehow?
@Brickyard. Bravo to you sir! Just what I was hoping could be acknowledged Yeah an eject mechanic would be fun - as would an actual explosive Mech Death effect under some circumstances!

people already do this when it costs money to fix your mech. in fact you should power down so you dont get found.
