Yes, I'm handicapping myself by getting kills, supporting the brawlers and helping my team win.
I don't care if its not the absolute optimum way to do that, it works. And thats good enough for me and my team.

I don't care if you flail when I take your legs off at the start of the game. That's good enough for me and my team.

See how it works when you ruin other peoples' fun in a multiplayer game?

Hey I love my commando. I can do just as well in it as a jenner and I cant wait till the flea comes out. FYI its 5 tons lighter than a commando.

My point is, the commando does all of it fine. Just not as good as a jenner.
You guys are implying that commando can't do anything except die, which is untrue.

I didn't imply that at all. I only implied what I said... which was that the Jenner is an all around superior choice; thus the Commando is pointless. I don't know why you're still quoting me. If you want to ride in a Commando... then keep doing it. I just hope you'll never be on my team with it.

I never thought I'd ever agree with this guy. I need to start legging Commandos at the start of matches. ;)

The difference here is that the Flea might actually get enough speed to be worth it. The Commando however got hard capped in order to avoid the game code problem it had with extremely fast Mechs.

I get nuked by people when I bring out my own commandos. The best way to avoid this, I've found, is to work really, really hard, or use the PC gamer skin, so when they see that I'm in their game, they don't go 'oh boy, a commando eating our jenner slots...'

In many ways, I don't blame them. I don't want obvious gimps on my team, either.

Okay, how about you read my commentt instead of blabbering like a fool?

"Yes, I'm handicapping myself by getting kills, supporting the brawlers and helping my team win."

You can't ignore those facts above.
I'm getting kills.
I'm helping brawlers get kills.
I help my team eventually win.

The commando can do all that with out dying, the jenner can just do it better.
You can plug your fingers in your ears and go "LALALALA" all you want, but it doesn't change the FACT that a good commando pilot can be useful to the team and help win the game just like any other mech.

God, I absolutely hate elitists like you who think EVERYONE should pick the absolute best classes/vehicals/mechs and if you don't, you suck and you should go die and play farmville. You are a DISGRACE to the gaming community.

There is NO competitive mode in mechwarrior online right now, theirs no ELO, theirs no ranks...
Yet you're telling me I HAVE to play the absolute "best" mechs and nothing else? Do you not understand what having "funs" means?

If playing the best is the best fun for you then thats fine, but you CROSS THE LINE WHEN YOU FORCE EVERYONE TO PLAY YOUR WAY.

WAKE UP

THIS ISN'T VASSAGO RAIN: ONLINE PRODUCED BY VASSAGO RAIN AND PUBLISHED BY VASSAGO RAIN.

THIS IS MECHWARRIOR: ONLINE PRODUCED BY PIRANHA STUDIOS AND PUBLISHED BY INFINITE GAMES.

YOU DO NOT DETERMINE HOW PEOPLE WILL PLAY THE GAME, PEOPLE WILL PLAY HOW PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE. BECAUSE THATS NEVER GOING TO CHANGE.

As a matter of fact, I do determine how peopleplay the game. If you're a gimp, you get crushed, and since you're on my team, I don't want you to be crushed. That's giving the other side points for free.

Even if you're super saiyan Jesus Christ himself in that commando, you'd do ten times more damage in any other mech. That's the issue. It's a gimp. Like the P228 pistol in counter-strike. There's no reason to use it, even to show your 'skillz.' This isn't warhammer 40k.

Running a bad build has a negative effect on your team. Are you that guy? Hmm? I think you are.
Ergo, people will keep legging you at the start. Enjoy.

Was there a point to be made in that wall of whining crap? You're agreeing with people that say the Jenner is better, thus you've no point to make other than "I'm playing my Commando regardless because I want to", and you've already said that repeatedly. You're just running in circles now and whining about how you hate elitists. Ironically, I hate elitists too, but this doesn't really even qualify for that or fall into that kind of discussion.

You're welcome. Now I'll go back to legging commandos that aren't my own, and most people are gonna do the same.

You really are sort of being a **** when you drop with a Commando.

Your chances of contributing as much to your team as the Jenner that drops opposite you is effectively zero. That means you are choosing your personal fun over your teams fun. Now I get that when you're pugging you can do all sorts of stupid crap. I laughed the same as anyone else at the 4 ERPPC Cicada.

Just realize that you're barely better than the guy who alpha strikes himself to death and quits.

My terribly LRM commando finally got a kill and survived! I killed some guy in an SRM Cat that was just ignoring my tiny amount of missile fire.

(This reminds of the last time I fought a cat. He was also an LRM boat but decided to charge me. I was of course forced to flee because the crap LRM-do has no close range weapons.)

You're hurting your own team by shooting the legs off the only mech most people tend to ignore.

I just came back from a map. I took out a catapult A1 and a yen lo wang in my commando. Both were solo kills.

A bad pilot in an atlas is the same as a bad pilot in a commando.

Not true at all because the Atlas at least makes a decent meatshield for enemy fire for your team. He can walk out then do nothing but is still serving a purpose because people WILL shoot at him. Now, what exactly does a bad pilot Commando contribute? He'll do zill dps(A bad Atlas still has a bigger pile of weapons) and die instantly without decent piloting.

Vassago is on his period again and people wonder why Commandos don't have more armor.

Maybe when there's a full enough game to have actual competitiveness and real top-tier tourney play for the esporters, instead of the half-game, 1/100th matcher, then you guys can qq about how someone is "gimping" your team. Otherwise you're just being big babies. And TKing over it is totally pathetic.

3 streak commando can be a really big pain...

Its the worst mech in the game,, dies almost instantly and is completely useless. Everything it does, can be done better by other mechs.

I dont even know why they chose to put it into the game. In table top it was only useful because you could field a handful of commandos instead of 1 good mech because of its low battle value.

Dont even buy it, and save up for a jenner.

Let the commando's deal with the flea's lol

I run a COM-3A ( 2 SL, SRM6 SRM4 2x SRM ammo, 10 SHS, no upgrades, some buffed armor in the CT and arms ) and I've now made more than 300k CB what is needed to purchase JR7-D, but... I'm having trouble letting go of my COM Chop-Suey

I've gotten more kills in that 'mech, and had some of the most exciting games so far in MWO, than any 'mech I've run before it. It's so effective a build, and so fun, that I manage to ruitenly make at least 1 or 2 kills a match, and have a blast doing it. It's a great fun 'mech, and I'd recommend it to anyone with the extra CB looking for a good build to rake in some cash, while getting a change of pace from the usual heavies and mediums.

Really, it's all up to playstyle; what you find yourself comfortable in, what lets you have fun, and which mech is best for you. You can't come into a topic about why light mechs don't work while being an assault pilot and saying ' I know lights don't work becaue I always win in my Atlas and rake in the CB, but when I play in a COM I get creamed.' It's a whole different playstyle; for the same reason, you can't say ' COMs don't work because I don't do as well in them as I do in a JR.' If it doesn't suit you, then it doesn't, but you can't declare everyone running one a liablity, it's narrowminded and unhealthy for a good community.

Edit: really, most people TK COMs at drop? Most people, being Vassago and his occult, apparently, because this hasn't happened to me... and they know they'd get banned if they actually did that kind of crap.

Indeed.

I really wish they'd give us a jumpjet+6ballistic( aka 6mgs or 1 ac2 you can load due to tonnage)+2 energy commando. It'd rock so hard.
