I understand the developers are making minor/major tweaks and improvements to the Mechlab.
http://mwomercs.com/...e-improvements/

Here are some improvement ideas you might want to consider, PGI...

Inventory

Founder and Hero BattleMechs
Under the Mech Inventory, there is now a separate tab for Founder and Hero BattleMechs.

Organization

BattleMech Sorting
The player can drag and drop selected BattleMechs on the Slider Bar for sorting purposes.

BattleMech Filters
The player can add various filters to the Slider Bar, such as weight class, cost, heat efficiency, speed, and firepower. A quick and easy way to find certain BattleMechs that match your search criteria.

Customization

BattleMech Template
This new button allows the player to save a loadout for selected BattleMech as an external file. This file can be shared with friends and family. This will also allow the player to build the saved BattleMech if possible.

Information

BattleMech Overview
This new button displays background information of selected BattleMech, such as: description, history, capabilities, and roles. This information would be similar to the Technical Readouts.

Weapon Table
This new button displays all weapon values in one condensed screen for comparison purposes.

Engine Curve
This new button shows the curve of engine rating versus speed of selected BattleMech.

Repair History
This new button shows the history of repair costs of selected BattleMech.

Realism

Damaged State
After the match, the player should see the damaged state of their BattleMech before repairs are made.

Tour the Cockpit
When the player selects this option, the window will turn fullscreen and you will enter the cockpit of selected BattleMech. You can assign weapon groups at this time, customize HUD colors, or use free look to admire the war machine you pilot.

Functionality

Rename BattleMech
The player can rename selected BattleMech.

Strip BattleMech
The player can remove all weapons, ammo, and equipment from selected BattleMech.

Inspect BattleMech
The player to see the BattleMech rotate in 3D (with free look, zoom in/out).

Armor Text Box
Text entry box added to Armor Distribution Tab. Allows you to type a new armor value for current section.

Maximum Armor
New button added to Armor Distribution Tab. Increases armor to maximum value in all sections.

Minimum Armor
New button added to Armor Distribution Tab. Decreases armor to minimum value in all sections.

Options

Font Size
The player can change the font size displayed throughout the Mechlab.

Fullscreen
Located in the Options Menu; the player can set the Mechlab fullscreen.

massive color formatting fail, good ideas though. The UI needs a lot of work, personally I want to be able to see unowned mechs without having to have an empty slot, and be able to put any item into your mech even if you can't afford to buy it yet - so you can tinker with builds before you've farmed up the millions you need.

there needs to be a way to save different configurations in mechlab too. So you can have like three different configurations for a mech and switch them out quickly in between games.

although pgi is probably going to leave that out deliberately so you have to buy multiples of the same mech to switch out configs quickly.

A lot of this stuff has been discussed before, but still a good post. Mechlab needs serious work still.

Many good ideas and I hope PGI takes a look at implementing some of them.
