Very different but nice design touch by our favourite FD! This will be an interesting ride in-game. Looking forward to start repaint work on this one. Would have expected default Capellan 'colors' on it but that is something a paintshop can fix...

Damn I should have waited and used the Raven for my Carl Edwards repaint...

That said, I have no issue with the new design direction. I am a little put off by how much of a doofus this vignette implies assault pilots are, especially with all the "whining" and such.

I completely agree with this. The past few weeks have me a little worried PGI is putting too much emphasis on "the little guys" and trying to reduce the focus of what 'Mech combat really is all about: FIREPOWER. Sure, lights and mediums are great. However their battlefield use outside of recon (which can be done just as easily by non-"Mech assets, and in the case of aerospace even better) is rather limited. Heavier Mediums and Heavy 'Mechs that can move relatively quick and still pack a solid punch and durability are the true workhorses. And when you need true Battlemechs-of-the-line, almost nothing beats an Assault chassis. I agree that light 'Mechs also have their place, but it seems recently that they are placed on a pedestal. Light 'Mechs may be fast, and many people seem to assume that makes them insanely difficult to hit by the Heavies and Assaults. Good luck continuing to say that to yourself when you run into skilled pilots who can actually aim. And always remember, you might be fast, but I assure you, those lasers? Yeah, they are faster. =)

I really like the design , but I would never pilot it (me and lights tends to have a very sort WOOOO OMG BOOM relationship) so i tend to avoid anything below medium =]

Kind of looks like a X-Wing and an AT-ST had a baby... ;)

Cool beans. :P

Don't get me wrong, I like the Raven and it's nice to see it make the starting cut.

But I expected something different than just a Mech Drop today for the special surprise that no one would see coming.

Ya know... the French surrender to the Nazis is really the only significant blemish on their war record. Perhaps all the anti-French jokes could take a rest.

OH! and I think the new look is superb. The curvy "beaked" look of the original isn't all that military looking IMO.

Anyone else notice the 500m range mention on the PPC's? Looks like there will be some sort of optimal range for the weapon, hopefully there is a hard and fast min range to go along with that too.

PPCs have 540m range in TT, I'd say that's the reason.

Given that 150 years previous the French were only taken down by most of the world joining forces against them, I'd agree. English propaganda never dies, it seems.

I like it. I was never really a fan of the hook nose. This is better.

Hmm. The cockpit window design looks very similar to what we saw in the F&F photo.

However, the weapon load doesn't seem to fit with that of the RVN-3L. It looks more like a Jenner to me. Then again, the window pattern doesn't seem to match that of the Jenner art.

It's certainly interesting... It looks like someone took a futureboat or futureplane and slapped it on top of an awesome pair of chicken legs.

Very glad to see it in the game.

I also knew this was coming and I'm happy to see the Rasven in game. I like the redesign as well, overall a job well done.

That being said, we need to get some decent heavies in the game, I'm a little underwhelmed by our choices so far.
PGI, next month better be a good heavy dammit!
