Well, for me, the Stats do not really matter, but to make them real Stats, we really do not need a Kill/Death-Ratio. Reason? Easy: Sometimes you hit a mech which is nearly down by a single shot... buuum, he's death, nice, your kill. But what about that guy who did the damage?

Sometimes, you fight one till he's as good as death - and someone other kills him - his kill. What about me in this case? It's a bit stupid the way it is now. It has no meaning, it says nothing, but it drives some newbies to do kills instead of playing for the team.

So: Please remove those stats or find a better way to display players results.

I hope they add assists to the stats. A good team player would have a lot of assists.

I just wish they had a lone wolf stat and a group stat that showed your performance alone and in a group.

The rest of your post begs to differ, they apparently mean a whole lot to you. But other then that, the more stats they have the better, gives the game some tiny bit of depth it needs.

Pretty sure assists is one of the items they want to add

Any one stat doesn't have much value by itself because it can be misleading. Win/loss doesn't mean much in the scenario of a pug-stomping premade group. Kills don't mean much when using selfish tactics to finish off enemies instead of employing the smartest tactics for the battle. Damage doesn't necessarily mean much, such as in the case of a missle spammer versus an efficient killer with precise aim. XP doesn't mean much if you exploit the system for spotting XP, etc.

We need more stats, not less, to get a sense of the type of role being played and the effectiveness achieved.

In my opinion good indicator would be average DAMAGE per MECH TONNAGE. For example i play hunchback and i made 500 damage - indicator shows 10.0. If i make 500 damage with atlas my damage indicator shows 5.0.

I know that the moderators have a lot more stats on each profile that we can't see... I can't remember the thread but I've seen Bryan hop in and make somebodies assists/damage/deaths/kills/wins/losses public.

In the future they're going to add additional stats, which are also viewable by other players on a ladder type system. Yes, there will be a #1. I know I've got a good amount of kills, but my wins aren't so hot exclusively PUG. The damage and assists must be outstanding for a jenner pilot.

I ignore my K/D ratio. This isn't Call of Modern Battlefield 6, where a kill means that you've managed to actually kill someone. I've seen matches where a Jenner pilot racked up 6 kills, yet only did 140 points in damage. Conversely, I've racked up over 1k in damage in my LRM-boat and only had a single kill....and 8 assists.

The goal for me is to win. If I can best contribute by sitting in the back and providing fire support then so be it. Others can charge in and take the kills.

w0rd.

K/D is meaningless in MWO. It's like the NBA only having Points Scored, and ignoring Assists, Block Shots, etc.

Many stats, in a vaccuum, are misleading. Any serious fan of any team sport can tell you that. Don't blame the stats, blame the person who misinterprets them.

What's the fun in that. The person who is misinterpreting them is likely to be an internet tough guy with cheese-whiz between the ears. There's no point in debating the issue with them. For them the stats are the end all, be all of determining one's skill.

I find it's better to reason with the developers for a stat-tracking system that can adequately display a person's attributes. I, for one, am more likely to pick a teammate with a horrible K/D ratio and a stack of assists than I am the 4.5 K/D braggart.

KDR is not completely meaningless, it just needs to be understood in the context of other stats.

As for a 'damage per ton' stat, I don't think that would be of any use, because damage is influenced more by the type of role and weapons used, than the size of the mech. High-powered light mechs would probably rule by that measure.

It would be nice to have detailed damage/accuracy stats for each mech and each weapon.

Well, yes... but by all this posts in this thread, nothing was telled for having THIS kind of stats we have now... it's meaningless and stupid.

Assists tell less of a story then even kills do. Someone can have 8 assists per game, but if they are doing 8-20 damage per game, they aren't really making a difference.

I'd rather see average damage per game. That will show a better picture. Kills while defending a base or attacking a base would be good as well.

Every time you drop .. you are IN A GROUP.

7 other pilots are counting on you to be a part of the group effort ...
