Stats: Wins/losses Instead Of Kill/death

Sometimes, you fight one till he's as good as death - and someone other kills him - his kill. What about me in this case? It's a bit stupid the way it is now. It has no meaning, it says nothing, but it drives some newbies to do kills instead of playing for the team.
So: Please remove those stats or find a better way to display players results.

The rest of your post begs to differ, they apparently mean a whole lot to you. But other then that, the more stats they have the better, gives the game some tiny bit of depth it needs.

We need more stats, not less, to get a sense of the type of role being played and the effectiveness achieved.

In the future they're going to add additional stats, which are also viewable by other players on a ladder type system. Yes, there will be a #1. I know I've got a good amount of kills, but my wins aren't so hot exclusively PUG. The damage and assists must be outstanding for a jenner pilot.

The goal for me is to win. If I can best contribute by sitting in the back and providing fire support then so be it. Others can charge in and take the kills.

w0rd.
K/D is meaningless in MWO. It's like the NBA only having Points Scored, and ignoring Assists, Block Shots, etc.

What's the fun in that. The person who is misinterpreting them is likely to be an internet tough guy with cheese-whiz between the ears. There's no point in debating the issue with them. For them the stats are the end all, be all of determining one's skill.
I find it's better to reason with the developers for a stat-tracking system that can adequately display a person's attributes. I, for one, am more likely to pick a teammate with a horrible K/D ratio and a stack of assists than I am the 4.5 K/D braggart.

As for a 'damage per ton' stat, I don't think that would be of any use, because damage is influenced more by the type of role and weapons used, than the size of the mech. High-powered light mechs would probably rule by that measure.
It would be nice to have detailed damage/accuracy stats for each mech and each weapon.

No, if you see it this way, you did not understand it.

Well, yes... but by all this posts in this thread, nothing was telled for having THIS kind of stats we have now... it's meaningless and stupid.

Assists tell less of a story then even kills do. Someone can have 8 assists per game, but if they are doing 8-20 damage per game, they aren't really making a difference.
I'd rather see average damage per game. That will show a better picture. Kills while defending a base or attacking a base would be good as well.

7 other pilots are counting on you to be a part of the group effort ...
