Dang, would be realistic if you could fix your weight and get that extra speed tweak by reducing tonnage...

You, excel pros, could make equations (with correlations?), for the cost in KPH/ton per MechTonnage ?

Also, i find hard to understand the 95% things. Is it that you can leave your mech up to 5% of tonnage free in exchange for extra speed ?

I made a spreadsheet showing the data in a different way. The rows represent speed in increments of 1kph from the minimum to maximum possible speeds, and the columns represent mech tonnage. The intersections display how much free tonnage after the smallest engine required for a mech of that tonnage to go at least that speed and any additional weight for heatsinks required to meet the 10 launch requirement

In general, I interpret the data trend to mean that there is a sweet spot for each mech tonnage where it has the most free weight of any mech that can go that fast. If you're running slower than that sweet spot in order to carry more weapons, you may as well have just brought a heavier mech.
