If so, what are you using? I'm debating getting a Saitek x52, but a petal setup for torso twist on MW4 and MWO is pretty appealing?

Havn't played a new game in a few years, but when ever I need a joystick I dig into my closet and see if my decade and a half Thrustmaster still works! I used to have a matching pedal set up but it's gone... and I have no idea what it was called, it was very basic though like joystick.
stay simple I say.

In MW4 I found the pedals useful, but... not for Torso Twisting. I tried it, but the mouse was always better, faster and more accurate.

Left Hand Joystick: (Legs)
Right hand Mouse (Reticle/Torso)
Pedals Toe breaks: JJ, Flush
Pedals Axis: Legs

So, I would use it WITH my joystick for legs, but to try to twist with pedals just wasn't accurate enough in MW4, and I'm thinking it will be the same in MWO. Flushing and jumping with pedals is great though.

If they seperate the mouse target and the torso target, we got a whole nother game though, and I'll have to retry that.

For a flight sim I`d think the pedals would be awesome. But I`ll stick to stick torso twist for a Mech control scheme.

personally, I do not, however if my logitech takes a dump, I may get something that has pedals. I would say that most likely pedals would not be the precision I would want for torso twisting, but they would be very useful if they were programmable, and could set them for use as a throttle control or for jump jets, ect.

The problem I have run into before with some software with a program/macro feature is instability, but I can think of several uses if you could program the pedals and have the system and game run stable. Torso twist is not one of them.

Im getting a pair of these http://www.amazon.co..._cs_sce_3p_dp_1 they are dirt cheap, so even if they dont work for Mech controls i can still make them ptt for vent.

Hopefully i will be able to rig them to a piece of plywood to Keep from sliding around, probably gonna be for left and right directional turning, I plan to leave the torso twist to my joystick. The keymapping for this game is going to be most interesting.

The Saitek x52 is a wonderful piece of machinery. I'm personally a sucker for lights, and its got enough buttons that I can play MW4 Mercs with all the commands on the sticks, and still have buttons left over to control itunes in the background and other things!

If you see one for under $120, get it get it get it!

You must play in a well lit room. I've had sticks/pads with lights, SOOOO annoying in a pitch black room I put electrical tape over them.

I'm in the planning stages of building a pair of pedals to go with my HOTAS Cougar. There are plenty of plans on the internet, so I should have them up and running by the time the game comes out. I would buy a pair, but compatible pedals for this stick are hard to come by.

My plan is to use the pedals for turning left/right and activating the jump jets. I'll use the joystick for torso movement and the throttle to...well, throttle.

I have a Logitech G940 (same as pictured on Paul's desk), and a TrackIR.

I've used them both for Rise of Flight, but not for any current 'mech related games, but assuming that they supported this will be my (planned) set-up

Torso twist/elevation/depresion torso weapons: Joystick - right hand
Throttle/forward/reverse: Throttle - left hand
Steering/left/right: Peddles - feet :D
Jump Jets: left toes brake - left foot
Full Stop: Right toe brake - right foot
Free look arm weapons : TrackIR - heasdset

There is nothing better than pedals for controlling direction of motion (legs).

I am using the pedals to move the legs. I also inverted the controls.

My joystick handles torso turn and tilt and my throttle determines speed.... I can't complain, I love this. I don't care if the mouse is better for torso turning.

Torso twist is best handled by the joystick, I use my pedals for leg turning. In MW4 I set up the pedals to emulate the mouse x-axis, then assigned that to leg turning. Hopefully I won't have to use work-arounds for MWO...

I am interested in this as a possible option. Did you purhcase them and test them out with something like MW4 yet? I am very curious to know if this pedal will work for turning the mech left and right, the ideal way to steer a mech for me. I am hoping to have a throttle in left hand, joystick in right hand for torso twist, JJs, weapon groups, and a pair of pedals for steering. I'm very used to a Tesla II pod setup, so that will make me the most comfortable and those pedals you linked look like an interesting option if they work.
