It just seems to me that so much of this is unnecessary. If they had a proper tutorial and practice games, we could teach new players properly. Hell, throw third person into the tutorial and practice games also, if you want, so new players can get an idea of the spatial nature of their mech.
Just don't split the whole community based on a feature that would change the fundamental nature of how we play the game.
