No more balance talk, i want to dip into the massive amount of creativity that you and i both posess, give me your best bad ideas for mech loadouts, team combos, attack strategies, jump jet acrobatics.... etc.

Recently ive been seeing and playing against the huge wave of jenners, with almost no commandos and ravens. ive recently been playing a raven with an Lbx10 and 2 small laser. The lbx10 is awesome from close range and can give those masssive crits to kill off mechs.

Matchmaking works based on weight? if so could you have 8 atlai on a team, with four of them only running a few small lasers and full armor. The 'light' atlai stay in bas and prevent cap while the others roflstomp to the enemy base.

Ideas like this are fun, the game is fun, balance arguing makes me sad.

the worse the idea the better, pics are encouraged

Your post may or may not have merit.

Unfortunately, seeing the made up term atlai ruined it all and gave me a headache.

I just had someone in my match with tons of bad ideas. Barking bad orders to our team. In the end his 'strategy' of staying back didn't even work. His damage score was below everyone else's and we got at least a bloody kill. The guy got himself cored with his alpha strikes over heating him.

Noogai's should keep those 'ideas' to themselves.

I put FF and ES on my streak commando.
I still have no idea if that was a stupid idea or not.

Ever heard of the 'lewis and clark'? river city low spawn, hop into the water and run directly to enemy cap. It's stupid and shouldn't work, but I've won 15 games out of 17 that I've tried it :)

A raven with a guass rifle. I was so very confused when I ran into it.

Forget heatsinks and big engines. Load up your team with as many ER PPCs as you can fit. Walk until you contact the enemy team. Have everyone Alpha strike the same target, and do it again when everyone recovers from shutdown.

this makes sense because every genius idea came from those who ignored new ideas and were stuck in their ways. New eyes see new strategies, especially since this is a new and dynamically changing game. try posting something of value, show your intelligence with a good idea

Base rusher!!!

But seriously, we have been accused of base rushing with a pair of Atlas's, err Atlases, err Atlai. :) I find that fighting a team on their own base is lots of fun.

It's even funnier if someone counts down in TS for when the strike will happen. Gauss can work as well.

The "Lewis and Clark"? Bonus points for the title there. I've only tried it in the opposite direction though!

Heh, ditto on the "Lewis and Clark." I've only ever seen it work from the high side of the map. Times teams have tried it from the low side, the opposing team can see them coming, line up around the hills on their beach side and fire with impunity. :)

From the high side, because so many "low side" teams swing far right (guilty) it can be difficult to catch the river rush in time, though the little creek with the culverts is a good spot to wait for them to pass and then swing in behind them. Just don't get jammed in there by enemy lights or fast strikers. Easy to die there if things go south.

The trick is, there's that little 'roof' deal next to the large building. You run out like you were all going G line, and then run underneath that roof to block enemy line of sight. If you do it right you'll pop out at the halfway point totally unseen with a straight run to the cap.

Listen I am up for all the bad ideas. Our team combo of 5 guys rushing waters on forest was bad. But convincing 2 others and another to ditch our fight and let 4 of us die was not. Especially when we were winning and killed one. This guy was in a semi cheeseback with SRMs that he didn't even fire once.

Wait, where now? Is this for coming from low side or high side?

that's coming from the low side. The roof is connected to the large building with ramps on it.

Buddy of mine built a cicada "quad-turret".

Maxed out his armor, but in the smallest possible engine, and mounted 4 ac/2's with a shitload of ammo and HS. It was slow, it wasn't the toughest thing, but it sounded crazy and was one hell of deterrence to capping our base. 4 ac's set to chain fire is beautiful thing.

Also one of my all time favorite builds is the Shotgun. Put a LBX on a max speed hunchback and fight in close quarters. Fit what ever lasers you can and just run circles around those big mechs or swat those light mechs with a burst of LBX.

It sucks in every other situation but close quarters like the city area on river city.
