I think all vepons should fire instant, i can imagine shot delay just only at the missiles, bacause of the missile-tank cover open time.
I have the same disturbing delay on all wepons except lasers.

That would imply your ping is a little less than 1000ms, so i think your counting a bit fast. bit under 1 second sounds right for international players which makes ballistics unusable on non-newbie pilots who dont travel at a constant speed in a straight line.

Actually my ping ranges from a best of 230ms to 500ms plus. I personally used a stopwatch to try to track the amount of time it takes to fire so I am definite it takes more than 1 second. Most likely 1.5-1.6 seconds considering human delay.

And I have noticed fighting centurions with sub 50 ping, their lbx fire interval is so much shorter.

On the issue of lasers being instantaneous: The animation is instant, however the actual shot is still delayed. If you watch this video below you will see after every time I fire the lasers the "cooldown bar" jumps. This is because while the shot animation has ended client side (when the bar starts to decrease the first time), my client receives a packet 250ms later saying your shot has now ended, begin the cooldown period of the laser.

Just chiming in:

Is it possible that this issue gets compounded by bad hardware/low FPS for some people? I notice my Gauss and PPC shots going off pretty instantly (unless there is a bad lag stutter from the server, which occasionally happens for a few seconds). Then again I have a very strong system. My biggest issue with aiming is the convergence mechanic, which poses a big problem for arm mounted projectile weapons.
