So basically, if the mechs are visually similar, have the same loadouts and tonnage, and the 2nd mech doesn't have many variants, PGI should use the Hero Mech system to count the experience of driving it towards the XP of a more variant-plentiful mech?

Sounds like a decent idea.

I actually oppose this. Since apparently it takes hundreds of hours to put a single mech into the game I rather the man hours be spent on better looking and more needed bread and butter mechs.

The Cataphract has always been the better looking mech over the Caesar.

The Victor, Orion or Zeus are needed more. Also the Devestator or Hatamoto-Chi.

while i like your idea... I do have to point out that the Caesar does have 4 variants that they could use for it IF they wanted to add it as a new mech and they could just switch up its hard points. We have seen it already in beta where some of the mech we have now have had hard points changed and or taken away to make them a bit more different or unique. As for a hero mech... they could just make a hero mech for the Cataphract if they wanted a hero mech that bad for it.

It's true there are 3 more variants to the stock Caesar. Unfortunately if you look a little more closely you'll see there all over a decade away from being manufactured. Heck, the original stock, just came into production this year.

Thumbs up on giving us the Caesar!

Hail Caesar!!

And that is exactly why this is pretty much the only way we'll get the Caesar into MWO, and hence it is exactly why I made this suggestion in the first place.

The same is true of several other mechs too, ones that are nearly identical to older mechs, but that have a slight visual upgrade and a new kit. They tend to have no or very few variants, and most of the ones that they do have are Fed-Com Civil War or WoB ***** designs.

The Cataphract/Caesar is merely the one that I am most interested in seeing personally, and the most timely, since the Cataphract is coming on the 20th.
