Greetings,
I found a similiar thread in the archives... not sure why it's there. Anyways: They suggested things there which really made sense:
While waiting for the match to start it would be nice to:
1. Look at your team (not the enemy). See what mechs you have. That would allow to come up with a tactic which you could share with your team (since you ARE allowed to chat while waiting).
It MIGHT actually even work to just give a list of the enemies chassis-types (i.e. you'll not know the exact type and surely not the loadout of the enemy, but at least you'll get a general idea of what to expect).
2. Be able to look at the map (maybe a satellite photo-like picture of it ?). Goes in the same direction as #1.
3. Arrange your weapons/vision mode. Why are we not allowed to do this BEFORE the match starts ? Or maybe even in the hangar ?
I like all those ideas. It would allow you to actually USE the time while waiting for the match to start.

I agree with this. It makes sense that the Mechwarriors would be able to review satellite data and known information about the enemy unit, before deploying to the field. Also: Who would go into battle without properly configured weapons?
