So it can load 8 machine guns and be somewhat useful for a change :rolleyes:

Or they could just fix MGs and make this mech actually useful.

8 MGs would only do 3.2 dps, and assuming you want sufficient ammo you'll need two or three tons of it, that's 10-11 tons right there.

a single a/c 2 with four or five tons of ammo does more dps, has vastly superior range, and more "burst" damage for the same weight and FAR less crits.

I understand that the MG is supposed to be a crit seeker, but it's just such a pathetic weapon overall it has no practical use.

8mg = 4 tons. (each mg= .5 tons)
Ammo (2000 rnds) = 1 ton each.

Total of 8 mgs + 3 tons of ammo (6000rnds)= 7 tons.

3.2 dps is roughly between an Ac2 and a small laser so it's perfect.

AC2 has lots of heat issues, is EXTREMELY heavy @ 6 tons and the ammo per ton is meager for its rate of fire.

8 mg's would be like a single AC2 yes.. but with no heat, short range and crit-seeker. A very nice combo if the Cicada uses a med pulser (= range as MG's) along with it.

Note im not asking for the MG to be changed, just the weapon slots on a mech that is significantly neutered because of its lack of projectile weapon choices.
