stupid question.. will special equipment be subseptible to damage during battle? for example a a Centurion pilot manages to spot a Raven moving at the edge of his field of vision and launches a salvo of LRMs and clips the Raven, knocking out its specialised equipment, now with its guardian EMC knocked out your lance mates are free to target the little nusance at ranged ...........
bare in mind that this is just an example of a Centurion pilot who out of luck got the drop on a Raven equiped with all kinds of goody lostech. but goes to show how damaging specialised equipment can change the coarse of the battle even if its just a lucky shot.

Supid question? I think it's an excellent question!
My best guess is probably not. or if it is, it's a critical hit on the specific locational slot.
Great question +1
Cheers

Equipment that takes up critical slots will probably cease to function when that critical is damaged. However, any equipment that doesn't (module upgrades?) probably will function till you blow up. The most dangerous equipment will take up slots though.
However, since there are no hardpoint limitations for equipment you can expect to find some of the things like ECM mounted by players in locations which won't be destroyable without destroying the 'Mech - like the Centre Torso or head.
There are very few stupid questions.

If they're staying true to the TT rules, which it seems they are trying very hard to do, even stripping off the armor and hitting internal structure risks critical hits to internal components. So mounting equipment on your center torso will protect it better than anywhere else, it could still theoretically be destroyed before your 'mech. Granted, if your center torso is stripped of armor, you are not likely long for this world at any rate. There is also the fact that there are only two critical spaces free in any mech's center torso, so you may be able to protect a pair of small pieces of equipment (C3 Slave and TAG, for example) or one larger piece (ECM), you won't be able to fit anything more than that (No IS double heat sinks, for example). The head is another excellent place to fit an important, small piece of equipment (C3 Slave or TAG, again), but as it only has a single free critical you won't be fitting your ECM equipment there.

Good Question and the answers are already listed. I would agree with all of the above listed but the not sure how the modules will come into play.

the only stupid question , is of course the "unasked one"

If it can be bolted onto or into a mech, it stands a chance to get blown apart.

Questions give us answers, which gives us knowledge. always a +

aye, that is a good question and i do believe the devs will probably implement the answer as listed above
