Depending on how resistant to electricity they are, that may not be an issue. For that matter, layer some high-resistance cable, or even just simple heating coils, through the muscles and you're set. Hell, for that matter once they get the heat-reactive version down, maybe they'll figure out voltage-reactive versions.

So basically all we need to figure out is fusion reactors and the whole balance issue and we're set. (Lasers would be nice, but maybe the JagerMech is closer to what the first real BattleMech could be like instead of going for the Mackie.

This would make Flamers useful and would work wonders by locking up a mech.
