My suggestion is to allow for purchasing of parts to be done in MC instead of only CB.
That, or let there be a simple ability to purchase the CB directly without the archaic method of buying stuff just to sell it.

Below is the math as it stands RIGHT NOW... this is how much CB you will get for your buck.

1 MC = 1250CB

Atlas AS7-D = 3870 MC
sell for 4,838,000 CB

$1.00 USD = 214 MC (average between all of the packages offered)
$1.00 USD = 267,500 CB

1 double heat sink = $5.60 (ouch!)

No.

EDIT: MC = PGI's income.

I dont get the "NO" ???
Was I trying to take away PGI's income? nope. I just want more options with the MC, that is it.
Why make it so I have to buy an Atlas that I do not want, just so I can sell it for half price.
Also... why can I not buy a DHS for a straight MC price.

The big... NO... does not even make sense in context.
Are you saying you DO NOT want PGI to make income?

The math I did above is not some kind of theoretical computations... it is exactly how it is in the game right this minute.
1 MC = 1250CB

Do the math yourself.

How about no? MC is there to REDUCE the grind, not completely eliminate it. Tell me this: if you could buy every single part to kit-out your 'Mech with MC, how much more time would you spend playing than you do now? How much LESS time would you spend playing?

Well, in hindsight I actually read it backwards (C-Bills into MC) and immediately went NO. So that's my bad.

I do see it as a slippery slope, though. It will eventually be seen as a form of "Pay to win" by some players.

Good point. I understand.
However, I play many games for months after I get what I want to get unlocked... most notable FPS.
When I get my gear unlocked playing Battlefield 3, I don't put the disk back in the case and say "Well... I got the assault rifle I wanted... I guess I can call it a day."

But if you're able to get the shiny assault rifle right away, would it have the same appeal?

I hear ya... the grind is the fun... but not so much in MWO. In most games (FPS particularly) you can still hold your own with the first load out you get. MWO is just plain dreary for new guys like me. Bought my first mech (Raven) and put 2X AC2's on it....then I slapped 2 EHLs... either way... not much gets done. But I am getting all sidetracked here.

As it stands we can convert MC to CB, it is just a pain and imprecise. If I am going to pay to win (which I will not win, even if you gave me my dream mech tonight) then at least make the process less back ally vibe like it is now.

After typing and retyping my post so as not to do what I did last time I've decided on just saying they might as well implement this. If you can do this in a convoluted way with the current system they might as well embrace it.

The only way to keep it from happening would be to do what most other F2P games do: Cash Shop items = bound to character and/or have no in-game worth (Sells for $0 C-Bills).
