Now I suddenly want a troll mech with the following:

-Any countries flag
-Loads of symbols
-Trollface cockpit

Lets add stereotypes on it too.

Mechs with WW2 Wermach colours and symbols must have glossy black paintjob and march with stiff leg movements and make snappy turns.

Japanese mechs that loose their weapons commits seppuku

American mechs occasionaly fire on friendly forces regardless of targets

etc...

Simply allow the skin to be changed out and offer an alternate skin for people who are offended by the canon skin.

Ok, step one, stop hating individuals that are no longer alive and move on.
Step two - Stop hating people jsut because of their nationality
Step three - learn semi proper grammar so that you can complete full sentences.

This thread is a bit too political for my taste, but would there have been complaints if people saw this:

Wonder Europeans reaction on Hakenkreuz painted mech.

We wouldn't whine like 5 year olds, it would be more along the lines "hey what gives".

A white supremacist wouldn't be accepted.

A Hindu would be something different here.

I personally find it sad that the swastika will always be viewed as the n@zi symbol, eventhough they pretty much grabbed it from other cultures/movements that existed far longer.

Better: Let the Political Correctness Gestapo be offended into leaving, then those of us with a grip can get on with our game in peace without their hysterical nonsense. :)

Reminds me of the 'offensive' ideas I've had for multiple games just for fun.

Warhammer Fantasy
Warboss Ku-Klux and his Clan
A night goblin army in white robes persecuting dwarfs

Warhammer 40K
Blue Oyster Boys mobile Infantry
Leather *** military infantry in black pants, vest and wearing a leather cap. Gimpsuit commandoes

etc...

I agree with Sen, History is to be remembered so that the errors are not repeated.
Let us remember the errors from our ancestor and hope we never repeat them again.
And say a prayer for those that suffered in war.

It is my hope that in future times war will only exist in computer games, that can end with no harm with the simple press of the power button. Until them just stay vigilant and my your best effort not to kill your former enemy.

And by removing things people are offended by that REMINDS them of what happened before is then a GOOD thing?

We cannot bury our heads in the sand and say "Go Away" just because we don't LIKE it.

Sen/Youn or whatever his name is has a problem with JAPAN, not the symbol. The symbol is just history and no-one would give a crap if Japan had properly apologized and had the facts in their history books.

Hell, when you have a Chinese official stating that China was never occupied by japan and the same time demanding they apologize then their view of official history sounds damn skewed.

I'd actually respect japan less if they apologized and begged for forgiveness, instead of sticking with "yea it happened, and?"

Exactly, I agree with Sen that Japans official stance on WW2 is a douchebag stance but that has no bearing on this game or the content because something can be SIMILAR to something someone finds offensive.

I appreciate the guy posting, and I can really see his perspective (the only purchasable hero mech has the equivalent of a swastika paint scheme).

Wrong, if you go down this path every time someone is in the least offended, the developer will have to add a function in the game to accommodate them. Do you really want programming hours going to this, I don't.

Most Asians find it bitter and painful to see the flag which was used to represent Japan during the Second World War.
I am Asian, please do not speak for me or my family or pretend that you represent my family.

To the Asian people the flag means racial insult, politically and further historically.
You have no clue what you are talking about.

Please, never overlook that for Koreans and the other victims in Asia, swinging the "Rising sun flags" is just same as "Swinging Hakenkreuz" in front of the European peoples!
The Asian community as a whole is more divided and would not be combined in a view point that you think. There is more racial tension between the Asian community as a whole and it has nothing to do with the flag.

The JDF (Japanese Defense Force) uses the rising sun as their flag currently. The fact that you find something that is written in a science fiction lore offensive is laughable. I find that you can't understand the difference between something in reality and a game offensive. In fact you should probably not watch any movies or books because they may be written or use symbols that are someone can find offensive... or confuse the fact they are reading fiction and not non-fiction. People who can't determine the difference are a hazard to society :)

Instead you should actually take your time and energy if you truly want to pursue this and post to all these other actual companies that make products and have commercialized it. I mean if you find a sci-fi game offensive, you should find these actual items like shoes, shirts, cell phone skins, car paint jobs, hats, buttons, movies, books also equally offensive. I think if you start now writing letters to all of them and begin your petition campaign, you might be able to effect them all by the year 3000. Good luck!

Japanese think they are already aplosized their war crime
but other asian people think differently
don't you know compensation and loan?
japan goverment paid many asian victim countries by loan.
loan is debt not compensation.
So, japan don't apolosize oficially 60s years.

in south korea, JDF can.t come in korean hovors.
why? Korea goverment ignore Rising Sun flag.
