91% against? given the numbers (over 2400) how could anyone ignore this?
But hey, I admire you misplaced loyalty.

Well, the problem with this is that they've be alienating all the founders who in a manner of speaking put up money to invest in this game because it was and at least currently is portrayed as a successor and proper game in the MechWarrior franchise. I'm not saying they should make this game only for the diehard fans and be happy with that. Nope. But, there is plenty of valid arguements out there that explain why 3rd person does not belong in this game.
I mean, quite literally, even suggesting third person in this game is tantamount to saying in an FPS "well, they don't know how to play with an inverted mouse so let's enable automatic aiming". It just doesn't make any lick of sense nor does it address nor help the player improve.
If PGI is serious about helping newcomers to the game and even the mechwarrior franchise, they need to create a proper IN-GAME tutorial that explains torso vs legs, how to observe their current positioning, etc. Amongst other things that new players should be introduced to. Besides, if PGI believes third person will rectify a newcomers issues with controlling both torso and legs, they will be proven wrong. People who have a hard time multi-tasking will continue to struggle and will continue walking into walls unintentionally, even in third person.
I guess if its that much of an issue, allow for torso/leg lock.

But I do find it odd how this is exactly like a recent election tatic. Lets distract everyone on something that doesn't matter so they won't focus on the accual issues. How about the fact it's still only 8v8 base capture and that's it. Or the fact there is only 4 1/2 maps or that there is alot of things ingame in the mech lab that aren't working at all. And the ever popular no training of anykind. Oh and you can't forget the totally messed up trial mech situation.
I am a founder I do believe in this game's potiential but as with alot of people i am not playing atm other then when it patches because of the issues above. I jump in to play after a patch to see if anything is fixed and or improved or implemented. And for the most part over the last 2 months There has been very little foward progress just some little trinkets and a few bug fixes that have caused more to show up....

Easy; internet forums are pathetic sources of feedback.

Yep, no argument there. Hey I was the guy that advised PGI to not listen to the QQing over the original economy.
I know that the forums are a minority, but that said this time around we have something different.
People have been voting and posting that never do so. This issue alone has done something that PGI, the Community and everything else has been unable to do.
In a forum renowned for its fractions, one thing has brought us together as a single voice (well 91% anyway). We dont want 3rd person in any incarnation. Thats rare, and PGI would ignore it at there peril.
Dont get me wrong here, I get that PGI and not us (forum dudes) get to call the shots, but this particular bolt from the blue should remain there up with the rest of the blue sky thinking.
