I've always liked the pairing of an Awesome with a Centurion or Hunchback to protect the Awesome's back from lights.

Generally I don't think of 2 mechs, or a pair, I think of lance's.

I was just thinking that. The only two pairs I've ever thought of were the Centurion/Trebuchet and Timberwolf/Summoner, and even then inside a lance or star.

Loving the AFFS, I'd go with that old medium standby:

Enforcer and Valkyrie.

The old tactic of baiting a lance into chasing the durable Valkryie into an Enforcer's autocannon sights is something that never gets old.

Any mech can compliment any other mech, as long as the mech's pilots (team mates) can manage well balanced mech. It really souldnt be a question of what mech compliment each other on the battlefield but more so what players/pilots compliment each other on the battlefield. Any mech can be devistating on the battlefield and compliment the other mech its paired with as long as its pilot can mesh well with his team mates.

What Mechs compliment eachother best on the battlefield?

Why it's the Atlas and the Zeus...:

>> Atlas: "Why Zeus, what a fine looking Auto-Cannon you have there!"

>>Zeus: "Why thank-you and might I say what a handsome Auto-Cannon you have as well!"

>>Atlas: "Oh you're much too kind... I think it makes me look fat.

>>Zeus: "Nonsense! You look like you could be a Heavy Mech class... Don't change a thing!"

:)

Two Awesome (or is that too Awesome) 150 meters apart (any closer and they could rip apart the very fabric of space and time).

This, except I feel like there needs to be another 'mech to soak up and withstand mass amounts of damage. Catapult's torso has so much surface area and light 'mechs like the Raven are not all that durable of course.

MAD + CAT :)

A lance of AWS-9M lined up shoulder to shoulder. The only thing in this time period capable of destroying small planets.

12 ER-PPC's fired at the same time?
Fire. There goes a McKenna.
Fire. There goes a large city.
