I was looking at the mech bay today, to see how much MC mechs cost. The Atlas K costs 5500 MC. That's about 25 dollars for one single mech!

How can PGI justify these ridiculous prices? I can buy a whole game on steam for that price.

You should see what other F2P games charge for similar equipment.

While the MC prices for mechs are somewhat excessive, there's nothing stopping you from using C-Bills to buy it instead. It'll obviously take longer, but won't cost you a dime.

This coming from someone who used MC to buy one just for the 300XL.

No stop right there. This isnt OTHER games. This is MWO. If they want to live on MICRO-transactions, they need to do a double take on their outrageous pricing. Dont forget, you still need to grind 9 chassis to get master on that 25 dollar imaginary toy. Not worth it. Its BS.

No one said you needed to purchase that Atlas K with MC though. Using MC only is for convenience atm. But then the cost is due to the XL engine it holds, same for any of the other mechs with XL engines, their cost is higher than ones with standard engines.

You should probably only ever buy one mech with MC and grind out the rest. If you're invested at all time-wise it isn't a terrible grind to get to a mid level mech. The in-game currency is supposed to help you out, not unlock all the mechs and features.

Thats not a legitimate justification for PGI's prices being high. They need to rethink their business strategy. People want to spend money on this game, the founders packs proved that, but no one wants to spend $25 for a mech. PGI needs to offer content players want to buy at a price players are willing to pay...

If you think the Atlas-K is absurd, you should look at the commando-1B, its $2.72. What a rip off. Less than $3 for a mech. Don't they know they can charge way more?!

World of tanks is played by like 800,000 people... They can afford to have extremely expensive collector's tanks, and some will actually buy them.

So you have a lot of money that you are willing to spend on a game.. congratulations? Most people dont have the luxury of buying them, they never will and they're going to find another game to play that doesn't charge them an arm and a leg to advance. Therefore, no money spent here because its too expensive, less players, less money, downward spiral, game is extinct except for a few dedicated fans in 2 years...
edit ok now I feel stupid, thanks Dagnome. But dont forget, you STARTED with a mech as a founder. New people have to grind through trials, and dont have any mc flopping around for mechbays.

This game is mimicing world of tanks to a T. It'll be just like it soon.

I bought most my Mechs from my winnings sir. I only bought my three required Atlas with MC. I am sitting on enough money to buy another K and a D.

I bought over 50,000,000 c-bills worth of Mechs without using a single point of MC. Man, that Premium bonus sure is nice. I wonder how much that costs.
