... why?

In fact why the hell is everything in this game so blurry?

motion blur - no thanks
depth of field blur - no thanks
blurry blur - no thanks

My eyesight is already blurry - i do NOT need added blur

I have used the user cfg overrides listed in various other posts to "turn off" blur effects, which have made a good difference, but please please please give us options in the menu to turn off these effects which detract from the gameplay, not add to it.

... and fix the advanced zoom. Thanks

It would be too OP if it was a perfect, high resolution zoom with the added benefit if not limiting your view/situtational awareness.

It would have been nice if it had been an off-center/non-cross-hair oriented zoom, so it was used more like a binocular than a scope...if this was the case, it could be a high resolution view.

spending 5k GXP and 2M cbills to equip this should give a useful advantage. full stop.

I totally get that PGI don't believe mechs are supposed to engage beyond ~500m, but the level of blur, if it is deliberate, is ridiculous.

If the intention is for long range shots to miss then fine, do it with weapon scatter or something - just dont give me eyestrain staring into a fuzzy image

I agree with OP. I don't really grinded 5k EXP and paid 2mil CBills to have small blurry thing become big blurry thing. Some things in the game make it look like we're in stone age, but they're fine as long as it is minimally convenient. The fact that it is blurry change absolutely nothing in it's performance - it still would obscure the fraction of your vision to display zoom window and you can still tell where the head and the arm of a target, but blurry stuff all over the place make it just stressful to see, more laggy and less logical.

I don't really believe that even our NASA telescopes with over hundred zoom level features so pathetic resolution.

In it's current blurry state it is not worth the CB and GXP. Also is there any way you could just set it to a 3rd click of the zoom button vice a separate key? Thanks...

Should probably use the magification with more of an atmospheric diffusion effect instead

I picked it up tonight and didn't really have issues with it. Of course, I ended up on Frozen City and Forest Colony Snow for most of my matches. I always run in Thermal, so, I look for discoloration caused by enemy 'mech heat.

I can use the 4x zoom to allow me better triangulation on my target and pop them at range with a PPC/Gauss. That's mostly what that zoom is good for, scouting at range and taking those pop shots to try and weaken enemy 'mechs out of lock-on range.

I understand it is blurry, but, it still holds its function. However, I will admit it would be nice to have a little less blur than it does. Some blur works fine, but it's fairly pixely.
