Hey all,

Is it possible to lock your mech's arms?

If not could we maybe get it added?

assuming you mean locking arms to torso, no, not possible

brought up dozens, if not hundreds of times already. community seems split, some people say it doesn't hurt to have the option, others say l2p and learn to pilot your mech. devs haven't officially leaned one way or another to my knowledge

personally i'm on the side of just learning how the reticules work; the fact that the arms are independent of the torso was an intentional decision to give the hardpoint system more depth, making the difference between a torso mount and an arm mount more than just where you have to be shot to destroy the weapon. the ability to lock the arms to torsos eliminates that. so i say no, don't add it even as an option

I honestly don't understand why someone would want to gimp themselves with a feature like this.

it would be nice in some long range situations, and honestly it would be a preference of mine in flatter situations.

Because its the only way to change joystick use from GOD AWEFUL WHY IS THIS MAN ON MY TEAM! To at least semi functional.

Not trolling, there is no need for this feature. I'm on the side of the fence that says, learn to use your arms. Why would you want this? It takes away the whole point of having arm weapons to begin with.

Than stop using a joystick until they come out with better joystick controls. Beating your head against a brick wall is doing nothing but make your head hurt.

I consider myself a fairly experienced 'Mech pilot, but I still use the "centre torso to legs" button (default "c") on a very regular basis, every few seconds when not aiming at something in particular, in order to keep myself oriented in my environment. It does not quite match the functionality of a true lock torso to legs system, but frankly you cannot aim with any accuracy at all with a fixed lock, so it might be worthwhile just spamming c to keep yourself as close to centred as possible while you get used to independent look and aim.

I've actually learned to pilot my legs via the minimap while torso twisting and shooting people behind me with my arms.
Having the ability to do that is just nasty once you start taking advantage of it.

This, also I never use c.
