I'm curious...have we more potential clan warriors instead of loyal house/mercs members?

So i place another of those polls. If there is already - please shut down this topic and place a link.

Me for my part stay with House Steiner - no matter the odds...its a question of pride - there is only one thing that makes me sad... nearly no chance to fight the Smoke Jaguars... the best of all clans

Merc company is the only reliable company to keep. Clanners expect you to go sit in a mech and die for honor. Houses expect you to go sit in a mech and die for their bank roll.

A Merc company? That's family.

I see no option to start as a House Unit and switch to a Merc Unit later... but I'll probably stay with a House Unit anyway.

I didn't vote, because respect is earned and there is no one House or Clan that has earned my respect. Lone Wolf first and always.

I direct you to the MW2 Mercs opening.

I, personally, plan to play both Clan *and* "Merc", so there.

I am a clansman with warden ideals so I'm thinking that when it comes to fighting I will set myself up with clan wolf in exile or ghost bear, Those cats work with the inner sphere on occasion, but I'm a clanner through and through, so I will lone wolf it until then.

claners are going to be at disadvantaged when they come because most of players that are in houses are going to stay there
some will transfer after some time it will balance out.

If I'm going to die for a bankroll it's going to be one that's worth a damn! Merc Company all the way!

Don't see how they'd have many recruits or long term members if they where callous. Houses have it easy, they say 'for god and country' or some similar shtick, Clanners get it beaten into their heads from birth that you live and die for honor. Mercs rely on eachother, and those who stab eachother in the back find out very quickly how their actions are viewed.

All they're really fighting for is a paycheck. Of course no mercenary who wants to continue fighting for a paycheck is going to stab another mercenary in the back, but anyone will tell you that in the end, the only thing mercenaries are loyal to is money.

I like the concept of honor by the clans, but I can´t accept slavery (bondsmen) or this superiority DNA s....t.
I am a Merc and fight for money but never without honor
I am a free man and choose my enemys, friends, employers by my self.

Loyal to the vision of Hanse and Katrina, the Federated Commonwealth will return the Inner Sphere to the glory days of the Star League.

Realistically because many of my RL friends have mixed loyalties to different houses and or clans, but our main focus is going to want to play together as a unit, I expect we'll be in a merc unit and stay in the merc unit together to make working for the different factions we hold loyalty to work out.

Personally, I favor House Kurita in the IS (a code of Honnor that says teamwork is ok, unlike the clans version) and the Nova Cats among the Clans (just haaate running out of ammo, give me some lasers for longevity any day). Go figure as they eventually team up.

I also a little partial to the Capellan's though I think that's mostly because I really like the design philosophy behind a lot of the their iconic mechs
