i dont mind the K2's too much. have a mastered one sitting in the garage, my FPS is too low to really be "good" though it had some spectacular moments.
the EASY fix if there had to be one, would be to move the ballistic hard points to the Center Torso. two machine guns would fit perfectly, even with space to upgrade to AC-2's. i know its not "canon" but with everything else they've changed who gives a crap. the A1 comes stock with 2 LRM 15's. but it somehow can cram 6 missile launchers into the same space a C1 (which has the same "ears") has for 1. because f*ck physics im a Battlemech,

Way I see it, at the end of the day there will always be people yelling about balance issues, even if things are actually balanced. I see deaths as opportunities to learn to play better. I think "What could I do better to counter that next time?" instead of "BULL**** YOU F******* YOU SHOULD GO DIE IN A HOLE FOR HAVING THE NERVE TO BOAT THAT OP ******* WEAPON."
I'm all for the dynamic hitboxes solution personally, but in the meantime heavy ballistics cats are not difficult to counter if you know what you're doing, and/or have competent/coordinated teammates. At all. There are far worse things to worry about than the single-shot damage output of a ballistics kitty. Like ECM for instance.
