Should Commandos be able to recover faster than their chicken-leg counterparts?

I'm just thinking of how to balance out Coms. I am not saying Coms are useless, but they are outdone in every aspect by the Jenner with the acceptation of being an LRM platform.

I think Coms should be built less around Dog-Fighting and more around a support role in taking down larger mechs, Leaving Jenners as Dog-Fighters.
IMO this could be done by making the Com resistant to anti-light tactics used by larger mechs. Making us harder to trip/reducing the benefit may be a step in the right direction ;)

+ we have arms, the ugly ones don't

Oh and do feel free to express you opinions on the roles of lights in game.

EDIT: that is strange, i thought i made a poll >.>

This unfortunately will be a problem many chassis face until some sort of drop weight limit or something is introduced. Like specific mission weight requirements or perhaps a chassis restriction.

Yes, I think they should get a bonus to recovery, as should all other mechs with proper legs, and actual hands they can use to help themselves up faster.

I see alot of players who can't aim to well, still are trying to ram me.

You know what they say in mech pilot class, "If you can't win, ram them."

WHEN knockdown returns people are going to cry so much it will be quite hysterical. All those "Wannabe" light pilots there are now will keep toppling over their teammates because with knockdown being out of the game for so long they have become complacent and lacking in actual pilot skill.

S!

Good light Mech pilots just adapt and continue their work as usual, bad ones try and die a lot trying or switch to another Mech. But sure waiting it to get back, haven't bowled in the Dragon in ages  ;)

I am not sure how balanced it would be, but i hear that Ravens will be getting Electronic Warfare equipment.

Maybe Coms could get in on some of that? Maybe something that makes them harder to hit with Guided weapons?

Coms are fine I torch most Jenners no problem. They don't have arms and it's easy to see where they're going to fire to stay out of laser sight. I don't even have any expert skills yet. Coms can actually run faster than they can as well.

*Edit* We're also harder to hit. I don't think there's any issues with commando currently. Considering knock downs are going to be reserved probably for only charge abilities it's not really an issue anyway.

Faster? Maybe... But it does not make up for the loss in tuns (allowing bigger engines in the Jenner) thus making your speed idea Null.

As for harder to hit, indeed we are. But again, it does not make up for our lacking armor. For the hits that do land on us, they are far more devastating than for a Jenner, even as they are getting hit more. But i would like to avoid just buffing Armor to fix this.

They have arms, and hands. so yes they should get up a bit faster.
