Stress Test Idea for the Devs

How about you have each MWO Group - Match play for the rights to the House Name, MercCorp registration, and Clan name ( for future use of course )
Just saying, if you want nasty, brutal, and Stressful on both systems, and players, there you go!

I don't get it...
You join the preexistent houses, you don't form any, so there's no real need to fight over that.
For Merc Corps and Clans, this would work only if people will contest the names. Generally speaking, we won't have enough disputes to stress test the servers.
If you really want to stress test both servers and players, just declare "today is open beta", and that'll work instantly.

If your/they as good as you claim, and you are claiming a name for yourself, for either inclusion or to exclude others; And if your practicing on MWLL, and Meknet, should be no worries, you'll win over a bunch of ragtag wannabes right?
and yeah, declaring open beta will throw 86000 lg in at once, I am sure that would be stress enough
But I would pay to watch some of these "name" matches, it would be awesome....

that way they can get the word out, test the game over the real life internet, connections and all, and we get to read about
it in their reviews!

Like I said on the claiming IS and Clan thread
Claiming a "canon" MercCorp, or House regiment name, means nothing until you've won the same battles as them, or won any matches at all.
It's fun, its a game, and its about who claimed it first, that's all well and good for some - - - and to bad so sad for others.
but its this cat fight, that I wanted to avoid.

I was just sitting here avoiding going to church, and repenting for my sins against humanity, when I thought I would stir the pot - so to say...
....and start a thread bringing the idea (from that thread) to the devs attention.
Ok, Wifes Home from Church now, I get to listen to how I am going to hell some more form her and the preacher. CIAO!

I've been keeping that in mind myself. Evan Lahti, of PCGamer magazine, is a big Mechwarrior fan, as well as some of the guys from the "Gamers with Jobs" , "Rebel FM", "Fear the Boot" and "Giantbomb" podcasts. I'm definitely planning on reaching out and poking a few to see what they think and drum up some conversation on their individual podcasts.
I think PGI might have your idea in mind for when E3 hits June 5th. It always seems like media blitzs and closed/open beta announcements abound the week of E3. But that's just an educated guess.
Cheers.

No, not if their taking vacations in Europe.....
That wasn't a vacation. That was a secret fact finding mission into the national cultures that comprise many of the Great Houses (and the FRR) in the Inner Sphere...
Studying the FRR would certainly explain the booze bill.

This is fine with me. Use catapult (no arms), joystick and nostromo keypad (no keyboard or mouse), bind weapons to groups 2+. Full speed charging with no torso twist would be like old fashioned jousting.
I approve this play style.
