Um this makes no sense at the moment. The weapon does massive damage in a single location in a game that penalizes you if you don't use AC's to do damage. So buff what is already a significantly overpowered piece of a machinery? All that buffing the AC/20 will do is make a very quick FOTM in one patch.
I'm running a dual AC/20 cat now and its ridiculous. Even firing one AC/20, the damage is telling.
PGI should instead look at pulse damage and reduce the number of pulses between damage and heat generated by energy weapons.
As it stands now if you are using energy weapons over AC's you are nerfing yourself.
Upgrading The Ac/20?

I don't know about that, I do quite well without auto cannons. Most of my builds use pulse lasers and when you focus your fire properly it's easy enough to tear through particular parts with haste. PLUS - I don't have ammo to case or run out of - can't tell you how many times I've run into a depleted dual ac/gauss/lrm boat toward the mid to end of a match trying to run for cover.

Lasers are still overall better than the AC weapons. You'll love lasers when you run out of ammo, you'll love lasers when your ammo explodes and kills you. You'll love lasers to deal with lights. I fear a laser packing mech far more than an AC20 packing mech in most circumstances.
AC20s are marginally ok at best, eclipsed overall by Guass and hamstrung by low ammo per ton.
