So I guess both premades AND pugs are ruining the game now?

Maybe some people should just stick to single player...

You know I made a thread like this as a joke, you attempting to be serious about it is just silly or a very poor attempt at humor. I am sorry but:

PUGs are what keep games alive. If you don't understand it - just take it for granted and learn to live with that.

Also gravity is ruining the game... and computers too!

I think the best possible solution is for everyone to go outside and not play the game because clearly then at least you won't know what new old thing is ruining the game this month week minute second.

Yes yes, teams are coming back, but seriously playing with poor players, doing stupid stuff is got to the point of being lame. If you're not 'brave' enough to get onto team-speak [you can just get on and type btw!] then I simply dont want to play with you.

Crossing fingers tomorrow's patch changes things.

Most annoying thing is the number of AFK losers there are.

"Your mileage may vary" I've had quite epic fights with randoms and some pretty disastrous ones as well, especially when I only had the trial mechs to pilot.

Just today I called out a target for those trial C1s to fire uon "B LRM target" because they were helplessly trying to shoot away at the Jenner running around near the Volcano on Caustic. Well "B" was down pretty fast and everyone got the whole "team" feeling going on, we won against a mostly non-trial/founder team. So yeah it can be fun, but 2/3 of the time there is no teamplay at all.

Reminds me a lot of going into duneons with the LFG tool in WoW ... horrible horrible horrible. Basically if I said hello, no one responded and instead everyone just started running and doing stupid stuff I disconnected (Yeah I played a tank for all you in the know).

Hey man, I'm like... a pug... and I'm not ruining the game. Teamspeak has nothing to do with bravery in most cases...

If I see you in a game, I'll do my best to stealth ninja yo shiatzu. ;)

I mean, a thread that said, '' Newbs suck, they're ruining the game "

........ Calling all newbs, we need a dogpile over here.

yea rift had a similar system and they had to nerf all the dungeons into mindless boring wastes of time for the randoms to actually clear them, went a long way towards killing the game for me.

grrrr.....yes. That and moronic suiciders. Wish they could set it up so that those folks get negative XP and C-bills. See how long that crap keeps up.

And OP, just put the crack pipe down and step back.

Last hour of the rest of my night
I wish I would've known
Cause I didn't kiss my corp goodbye

I didn't tell them that I loved them and how much I care
Or thank my lance for the chance
And all the wisdom they shared

Unaware, I just did the same thing before dispatch
Everyday, the same routine
Before I launch into a match

But who knew that this day wasn't like the rest
Instead of being the best
I took two gauss to the chest

Call me blind, but I didn't see it coming
Everybody was running
But I couldn't hear nothing

Except gun blasts, enemy scored so fast
I don't really know this kid
Even though his name's on the board

Maybe this kid was reaching out for love
Or maybe for a moment
He forgot who he was
Or maybe this kid just wanted to be hugged
Whatever it was
I know it's because

We are, We are, the pugs of the nation
We are, We are, the pugs of the nation
We are, We are, the pugs of the nation

I agree with your points and i'm a die hard premie.

The very thing that puts me in a go team or go home mindset (for myself everyone else can make the choice that suits them [even if they are wrong ;) ]) is not the Newbs, it's the greifing/power grinding/selfish players [hereafter known as "tools"] that actively hurt their team for their own personal gain. The sad part is I have less opportunity to help newbs unless I can lure them into TS (we do have cookies BTW) because within 3 matches of pugging win or lose I'm pulling my hair out over the idiocies i see.

Pugs = Not bad
Newbs = Important and not bad (but maybe not good at the game, that's a different story)
Tools = Very bad for everyone.

It's not even voice in and of itself. You'd get similar results teaming up on an IRC channel, for the most part. It's just that by playing with people who opt to use voice, you automatically avoid the suicides, AFKers, and the people who simply refuse to work as a team. I can't count the number of times I've tried to organize a PUG using text chat and gotten completely ignored, or even insulted. There's a large group of players out there who simply don't want to be part of a team, and as long as there's no way to avoid those people when pugging, PUGs will always be massively inferior to teams that actually use a minimum of organization. As long as there's no way to avoid them, pugging will remain a headache at best, a complete waste of time at worst. What PGI needs to add, on top of planned matchmaking changes, is a blacklist that prevents you from dropping with people on it.

Funny, I thought pretty art coupled with bad/missing mechanics and unambitious game modes were the reason.

[REMOVED]

Thing is that when I use the MWO server, I never run into the OP's opinion. It does take a match or 3 to get into the groove of the group I am with (I mostly drop with ML), but the players I have run with were all good people that I would drop with again. PUGs on the other hand go AFK, disconnect, and generally don't play well with others. Tale is in the tape. Look at the Assists of your winning teams, they work together and that is usually the top 4 players in the team. I'd say once every 10 drops is it the entire team wracking up 3-4 assists per player. I can look at the #s and see when there is a 4 man or an 8 man I dropped against.

@OP your attitude is precisely why many people don't want to get on TS/Vent/Mumble etc. I bet you are the type who likes to scream orders and blames everyone on your 'team' but yourself when you lose....then proceed to rant.

I dunno if I should cry or laugh at all the braniacs insulting the pugs over and over again. The majority of players. Those who decide if this game stays or goes.

Well, if one day you have succeeded into throwing them all out of the game and PGI has to close the servers, send me a note, so I remember whom to laugh at. ;)

p.s. oh yaaa sure a marine ******** about language. Lemme guess you were a clerk or some other pos REMF

Hiding behind language and ad hominem attacks to attempt to make a point is pretty much proof positive you don't really have anything to say that is worth hearing.

Yeah a Marine worried about language... this one too BTW, because it is in violation of the forum guidelines and drags down the conversation. The rules are there for anyone with a brain to read, so you have no excuse.

The Op is wrong but that doesn't mean you should attack him directly, calling his premise stupid is one thing direct attacks are another, and knowing the difference that's maturity.
