Since they're always fully functional at the start of every battle?
Not repairing my XL engine saves me 40k every time I'm cored.
Does not repairing items make them more likely to be disabled by a single crit? Or is there currently no reason to ever repair items?

So Is There Currently No Point To Repairing Items?

Your internals have its own HP. When you don't repair they are more likely to fail when being shot at. If you don;t repair even twin machineguns can disable your internals quite easily when you have some armor left.
I didn't use to repair my internals in the beginning of OB untill I observed that I was loosing systems faster then in CB where I did repair them. Especially getting a critical on your CT is instant death in this case, because your engine has at least 6 critpoints.

Items function fully until they are destroyed. Items can take damage from damage inflicted on your structure, ie when that section has run out of armor. Losing your gyro, cockpit, or engine will destroy your mech. I find that not repairing my mech after getting cored increases the possibility of being destroyed without losing all of my internal structure, so I orepair items if I know that I took structure damage to the head or CT, side torsos if I have an XL engine. I don't repair items if I know that the damage was only done to weapons and equipment as losing a weapon isn't nearly as bad as losing your engine.

my full repair bill is usually about 40k to 60k if I die. considering the fact that i'm making about 120k every round I just shell out the money for the repair
