Are you still capping if you sit atop the enemies base or jumping around in the box?

If I take my C1 and run and jump onto the enemy base structure, off the ground, would I still be capping?
What if I am jumping in the air inside the cap box area?

What?

Aslong as you are inside the box, you cap.

I'm not sure about this. I was standing inside the box on top of the cap structure alone, and the cap timer stopped dropping. From what I remember. I may have been drinking though, so further testing is warranted.

Yes, as long as you're within the boundaries of the "box", you're capping- even if that means you're sitting on top of the little "base" thing in the center.

Shooting it, however does jack-diddly towards increasing your capture rates.

Not 100% sure of the question so let me throw some facts at your face to see if I can clear things up

The enemy caps your base if no one on your team is there to contest it.
If you or a friendly are within that square, the cap is stopped.
The more people capping a base, the faster it goes down.
A single opposing player can stop the cap from going down regardless of number of attackers.
You can still cap if you are shutdown, likewise prevent the cap if you are shutdown as well. (Ninja Cap/Defense)
You still cap/prevent cap if you JJ within the red square cap area.

Hope that helps!

Much obliged. I was just curious as I like to perch on top for a wider range of view sometimes.

When i jumpjet onto the "coffee machine" they added in the middle of the cap the timer stops. Friend of mine sais it can even stop if you get on some rocks or "bomb-crater" bounderies (river city upper cap).

I just try to stand on a flat portion of the cap just to make sure i do not lose any ticks

I thought this was fixed by some patch a while ago?

But there are also bugs like having to leave and reenter the square a few times to get the cap countdown to start, and standing on your own base not stopping the countdown.
I find it pretty much random like most things in the game.

Really? I've ninja capp'd a base before by JJ'ing my raven on top of that thing and shutting down...

...I thought it was funny as **** since the other team was looking for me for a solid 5 minutes before giving up and claiming the match was bugged. lulz

Please don't troll the noobs with false info.

I don't get it. I usually power down on cap zone to avoid missile lock.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a troll, but was not trolling this time.

If you power down on a cap zone, it stops ticking.
I would know because I lost a few matchs because of it.

Then I'll go test this again, because I won matches with a powered down Raven inside enemy cap zone.
Not trolling.

You're wrong. Capturing continues even when powered down. Seen it just jesterday when a Jenner sat on top of the base thing and fooled us for a minute.

I stood on a point long before the enemie did, there was only one left on there side. It was half way in the guy just got to our base. We basically won, so I decided to power down... I didn't realize it was taking longer then expected to cap until I saw the "defeat" screen. According to the people on teamspeak with me, the bar literally stopped going down when I powered down.

We thought it was a bug so we tried to replicate it, happened again latter that night. It seems to tick regardless if you have other people who are on the point. But if you're the only one on it and you power down, it stops ticking.

Of course, this could just be a bug. But I would need to see video proof of it still ticking while powered down at this point. I'm sorry, but everything I've seen just basically says "Only guy on point + power down = capture tick stops".

Again, not saying you're entirely wrong.

I have capped a base that was occupied.
The Jenner that was guarding JJ'd far into the air vertically, and his "cap jam" stopped and i got the last tick.

I think we can conclude from the various experiences that Capping is slightly bugged.
