IMHO best solution period is to just bring back the Torso Twist Meter from MW4... it worked PERFECTLY to show which direction you were facing and by how much!

I've heard the suggestion of a bobble-head of a mech that would match your current orientation. Giving every player something like this for free would be a much better help as a training tool rather than wrecking the game adding a 3rd person camera.

This solution sounds like something that could be employed during a tutorial or activated for regular combat. No way I'd want that as a normal pilot.

Motorcycle license would be a good example for 3rd person practice (where you have to actually twist your head/torso correctly) imo.

I'm surprised noone mentioned it yet because that'd be an advantage of 3rd person view too:

I wanna see if all my weapons are out of cover enough to shoot my target. Countless times I just hit my cover and there is no way to exactly tell if all my weapons have a free line of fire.

I'd love some kind of indicator for this.

Good idea...this is similar to what existing car rear-view cameras do.

Just teach new players look at the minimap constantly.

Man those pics of the rear view cameras .. now throw in some *beep beep beep* backup warning. Next up we will have special Atlas parking spots.

Anyway we do not need any of this, it only makes coordination & communication within a team less important.

The hud already HAS direction indicators. It's just that the helmet wearing, mouth breathing, crayon eating, window lickers can't figure it out.

Don't pander to idiots. just drop the 3rd person idea completely.

If, as a human being, you can't figure out that your torso can look one way while your feet walk another way.. then you probably shouldn't be playing MWO, let alone own a computer.
