Are things really THAT bad? Are there NO positives to speak of?

Frankly, I am thrilled to test- out the long- awaited Cataphract! Once the Stalker enters the fray, my testing life will be fulfilled!

All other pet peeves, disappointments, OP vs. Nerf, PUG vs. Premade, etc. discussions/complaints/rants/constructive criticisms...the Devs are on it. Why don't we simply report the issues through the proper channels, and let the Devs deal with them?!?

It's getting to the point where I don't even want to read the forum postings any more! I just want to play and test this game!

Am I alone in this?

Flame away at me...I truly don't give a f!@#! I just want to test and play MWO!

Raj :)

Would love to test the Cataphract. Unfortunately my performance dropped pretty bad and I have HUD-glitches in-game.

Issues are reported through the proper channels. Some issues have even been reported since weeks or even months.

Why do even read the forum posts then? Enjoy the game as long as you can.

Im downloading PlanetSide 2 at the moment. If not the game it is the community that drives me away the most. I feel like this place is HQ for aspergers on the internet.

Happy there is a game, and I like how they ensured a reason for light mechs to stay in the fray.

That is about it...

There are 1000 positive things to speak of. But most people tend to enjoy the positive things by simply playing the game.

Official game forums are like service hotlines for [insert random technical product here]. Only those with problems will call the hotline, those who don't have problems and enjoy their product wont.

I'm enjoying the game - not boating any one weapon, playing with friends, keeping my loadouts relatively heat-neutral and varied. Good times.

its a cool game.. lots of fun... running realy smooth even the server status is very heavy.

but well i would be happy with MW:O if PGI could atleast fix the netcode and programcode.. but thats seems to much for a "beta" .... atleast the shop is working and were getting more crap mechs every 2 weeks ...

cataphract is pretty cool. could be animated better imo. kind of stiff lookin

i think what it is is that we have high expectations of the game. PGI really just arn't able to step up to those expectations.

The way i am starting to see this game is, that it is a free mod or some kind of community developed game, that way i don't expect polish and am never disappointed.

The big problem is: THE CORE GAME IS INCREDIBLY FUN!
But pgi decided to put the great wall of china around it.

Performace issues, grind, new player experience, bugs, matchmaking just prevent the majority to enjoy the (again) very well done mech-blasting.

Thats why people complain, if the game wasnt that fun no one would bother.

You aren't alone. Forum users represent an average of 8 to 10% of any given community. The negative posters will often have an even larger voice amongst this minuscule minority than those that have positive things to say. This is primarily because those having a good experience are not spending their time smashing their faces into their keyboards while choking themselves with used buttpaper...they are in the client having fun.

I fully share the sentiment of your post and want to thank you for taking the time to post it.

Congratulations ... you have now discerned the basic behavoir of the mechwarrior video game forums universe.

It's been like this ... um, well, since at least the year 2000.

Everybody wants what they want, and sadly, most people don't spend the time to learn about the BTuniverse/how mechs actually behave/ what a mechwarrior game really is anyways ... Complaining is a normal and to be expected ... but it's worse in the MW video game community because the central core truths of what is and what is not "mechwarrior" tend to cause this community to be a bit more negative and devided than it should/could be...

Which is why two of my sig links exist...

The core of the game was never something PGI created. This was done in many of the previous mechwarrior games. Which explains why it is the only good thing about the game. Because everything else PGI does by itself aside from what it took from other MWs is rubbish.

If this game is fun its because of the history of what the PI has created and built not because of PGI. in fact the only thing PGI has done is tear into that history of good craftsmanship and fun game mechanics.

That is a very naive way of thinking. A bit more realistic way to think is that when there are huge problems with the game, the players who don't come to forum to whine aren't "having fun" playing but instead go do something else than play the game. They don't care enough to come to the forums to cry about it. Thinking they are having so much fun that they don't have time to come to forums is very naive and unrealistic. The game has obvious big problems, no amount of positive thinking is going to change that.

Positives? Plenty!

1. For me, the game has increased in performance every patch since the engine update change.
2. I love the new Frankenmechs; They are a lot of fun and look awesome.
3. Ongoing weapons balancing. Sure, during the process of tuning some things get out of whack, but on the whole things are moving in the right direction.
4. New equipment/items are being introduced all the time.
5. In the 6 months I've been playing the game I've not ever not had fun. EVER! That's what it is all about and it doesn't get any more postive than that.

I actually appreciate this point of view as well. You have pointed the issues without being a total **** while at the same time expressing your frustration in a both critical and positive fashion. The only point I do not agree with is that it is the majority who are unable to enjoy the experience of being a beta tester.

Your last sentence though, I have to say is fairly spot on.

There are some here solely seeking a sympathetic point of view to share in their incessant complaining, to be sure. However, as I said, I find your last statement spot on because there are indeed many posts that I read that make it very clear they really want this project to work out in the end. I am pretty sure that most of these people are just dicks on the Internet in general, because no one is there to slap the taste out of their mouth. They lack patience, courtesy, and common sense most of all.

Anyway, enough of my complaining about the complainers.

Great post.

You stick your face out to insult me while at the same time utterly failing in any notion of common sense or simple logic. The numbers of people playing versus people posting are all one needs to discern that my statement is absolutely correct. You don't know what you're talking about in the slightest.

Having fun and having positive things to say does not equate to denying there are issues with the beta client. Of course there are issues with it, it's a beta client for a Beta program that is developing into a game-to-be. Equating one with the other is a sign of an absolute inability to critically think and furthermore demonstrates the inability to think beyond one's own blind malice.

Go ahead and smash your face into the keyboard responding, you aren't worth talking to.

your post is lame
you should be embarrassed of yourself, theres a post for everything and now there is a post questioning why there are no posts for positive remarks. post something more constructive . like a post that posts something about other peoples posts about negative remarks.

Your lack of punctuation is lame. If you truly hate the game, then go play WoT or My Little Pony.

Actually, according to the poll with the most users(3rd PV) it was determined that the population of the forums is less than 2% of all registered accounts.

@OP: there is a ton of stuff that I like, but also a ton that needs work. There is nothing however that I "hate", the occasional forum ***** aside.
