Hello.

As you could deduce yourself im a newb and today i have played my first battles. Im very impressed by this game. It looks like World of Tanks 3.0 :)

Two things are very unclear for me:

1. if some lasers have range 270m, will they do any damage at lets say 400m or 300m?

2. the catapult guided missiles:
- after being released with locked target will die go to it themselfs or do i have to keep my crosshair on the targets icon so the crosshair stays red untill they hit?

- do i need to release them after i get red crosshair on the target or can i aquire them target while they are already on the fly?

- if my target disapeares when they are already in the air, will they hit the last known location or what happens then?

Thanks in advance for tips.

AMS is passive. It will automatically engage enemy missiles that come within 200 meters.

And the only 'Mech that comes with AMS actually equipped by default is the AS7-K Atlas. All other 'Mechs have the option to put it on, but it isn't installed by default.

Has anybody posted an evaluation of the effectiveness of the AMS? As in, how effective is it, how many missiles does it actually take out, etc.

It depends on how long the LRMs are in the AMS bubble. If all LRMs come at the same time more come through then when it is a long stream of 5's.

From observation, 3-5 on the way in if I am the target. And another 3-5 on the way out of I'm screening the target.

Three AMS cancel one LRM15 salvo.

Hauser is right of course, if you can wedge in 2 AMS systems, you are rather safe, unless your a knucklehead like me, and refuse to USE an AMS system to carry more Gauss ammo XD
