Is there a way to manually make a structure slot go to another place? My situation is this; I have plenty of room in my legs and head, but the structure slot is "golden" on my arm where I really need that slot for something else. How can I force the structure slot go away from my arm and go for example to my leg or head? This is really gimping my build idea. If this is a bug, are there any known work arounds?

Well there should be no problem with moving Dynamic Structure Slot, you simply drag and drop module that you wish to have on that spot. Structure Slot will automaticly move to next empty hardpoint in arm or if arm is full it will move to empty slot in other body parts.

Like I said, the structure slot has turned into "golden" meaning it won't budge. You are talking about the "white" structure slots, they are not a problem. What I need to know why has the structure slot made itself permanent on the arm when there is plenty of room elsewhere? Are there some restrictions that an arm must have a permanent structure slot?

if the structure has turned yellow/gold, it means your mech ran out of empty slots to let ES slots move around.

Edit: or of course, that could be a bug, because these ES slots are supposed to move to any and every empty critical slots on the mech

This is because you have more Dynamic Structure slots than Empty slots left on your mech. Adding FF/ES adds 14 Dynamic Structure slots. Even with Empty slots left, if you have more Dynamic Structure slots on a single location then Empty slots left, then obviously a number of Dynamic Structure slots (Dynamic - Empty = Locked Number) will have to be locked because it is impossible to move that number of Dynamic Slots to another location.

This has been talked about and reviewed 100 times, the system works. I have never seen it lock a slot with available space left in a manner inconsistant with how it works in the TT.

There was definitely something fishy going on. But I fixed the problem by removing the endo steel and re-equipping it after having put in the items I wanted at the correct slots.
