Streak SRM2s
... anything else if you think you can hit with it consistently.

LRMs if you have low frame rates. So long as you can keep them busy with your fast Mechs that is. It's not to hard to kill a Jenner at about 400+ M if it is chasing/being chased by your lights! I get a few Jenner kills every day at 6-12 FpS.

I agree, ssrm2's are very good against light mechs.

Now if you get good at predicting where to shoot, you can ruin their day with a couple of srm6's, can be tough though, but a well placed shot will end em.

The one you can hit with.

There's nothing magical about the Jenner (or the different missile types); you hit them enough, they die. The trick is in the "hitting them" part.

Personally, I prefer dual SRM-6s or triple SSRM-2s.

the reason i ask is cause my in battle framerate isnt the best and that makes it hard to aim at range especicaly against something as small as a light mech

Streaks and line up laser/ballistic shots when you are either directly behind or in front of them.

I use two COM variants, one that have 3xSSRM and a ML and other that have 3xMPL focused on chasing JENs

When using SSRM try to aim their back (chase them or hit them while they pursuit other mech). When using any laser, pay atention to the crosshair, when it get red it means you are making damage (not the actual 3d model being hit).

When facing JENs I use chain groups (backspace) to help the constant aiming with lasers and not to waste missiles.

I've had good success with my 2 Artemis LRM15s, as long as I can catch them at a long enough range. I look for them to be engaged with someone else - either dueling with another light or harassing an assault mech - and I'll throw a salvo or two in.

But at short ranges, I think the SSRM2 is the best bet.

Then go LRMs. I have bad frame rates and I get good hits at range with LRMs.

With low FPS, LRMs +Artemis and staying at range are your best bet.

To get a lock, you pretty much just need to keep your reticule within the square, which is trickier the closer you get.

Streaks are your best bet. LRMs are a great way to let every light pilot on the map know where you are and that you aren't kitted out to fight at close range, so I would advise against them as a counter.

Also, put the Streaks on something that isn't a Commando, because a Jenner will still kill a Streak Commando in a fight thanks to being much tougher and liable to mounting Streaks of their own. The 6-Streak Cat is effectively a 270 meter light mech exclusion zone, and it's pretty punishing to Mediums as well. It's not very good against anything bigger than that, but if all you want to do is make light mechs **** off then that is your mech.

All missiles used correctly can be very effective against light mechs, which would you like tips for using?

the core issue behind my question is my aiming speed vs the enemys movement speed

Then LRMs are what you are looking for. At 600m, that fast moving Jenner is still fairly easy to follow. At 60m, he's running circles around you as you try and get lock.

Bear in mind that my experience comes from a Catapult C1, with 2 Artemis LRM15s and 4 medium lasers. It's also good to up your armor (I'm at 12.5 tons), it'll make you less of an easy target for lights.

Second thing to remember is that Artemis is currently stupid expensive to rearm. Put extra tonnage of ammo on, and live off of the 75% free refill.

If your aim is bad but your twitch is good then srms can blow them apart(at least 3 launchers at a minimum, it is going for the shotgun effect so you need much damage in it to make it really effective).
LRMs are easier to aim at distance but will not help you when they are close.
SSRMS will probably be the hardest for you if your aiming is bad for whatever reason as you will need to track them consistently at short ranges, however if you do manage a good hit or 2 (or are as fast as them and able to easily turn and keep them in view just not aim specifically at parts) then it will almost always scare them off.
