It's Nice To Have New Mechs

However, to play this game long term the community MUST have
- Proper Netcode
- Matchmaking
- Collisions
- Community Warfare
This patch really seems like a "nice to have" patch at a stage in the game where the lack of "must haves" are driving people away. Please get your priorities in order PGI.
Also next time you have an official post saying we will deliver X on Y and it turns out you won't be doing so, you should let your community know in advance so they won't be disappointed when Y comes around and there is a lack of X.

However game development is split into teams. The people who design maps and new mechs are not the same people who code things such as the netcode and collision physics for the game client and game engine.

Since they had promised the Phract on the 20th, if they pushed it back and even released points that addressed more pressing concerns, people would have been up in arms and wanting PGI's blood.
PGI can do no right by the players, it seems.

The sense of entitlement here is astounding.

There's plenty of people left who have realistic expectations of what can be done in 1-2 week increments. Anybody expecting wide sweeping changes doesn't know the first thing about programming.

They also promised phase 2 on the 20th.
And frankly no one asked for the Cataphract or other mechs to be a high priority. That was their own agenda. If you asked people here would you rather have a new mech every month and then we'll get the net code and matchmaking done in 6 month time, or would you rather have no new mechs for 6 months and we'll get the net code and ELO matchmaker done by Christmas, I guarantee it would be a 100% in favor for the latter.
And yes I understand the above is not a sensible scenario because they have different people working on different stuff so its all coming along at different rates, but I'm not Russ. As a customer I don't really care to get into that level of detail. I just want my Must Haves and glancing at this patch, they promised 2 things. I got the Nice to Have thing and there's no mention of the Must Have.

Because their patch notes are always 100% correct and reliable. Right?
/sarcasm
Wait to see if they've changed anything else that is not reported in the patch notes,

Thing is, we don't pay the bills, PGI does. Their butt is on the line here, so if they prioritize in the way they do, it's kind of their ship to call it as they see fit.
The points you made were all areas I really hope get addressed ASAP as well (function before content), but it's all just wishful thinking to think we have a tangible pull on their priorities, isn't it?

Oh God please no. You can't be serious, we already have mechs that can do like 150kmph. Any faster would just be stupid with the netcode as bad as it is.

We both want this game to be successful. I just don't think they're going about it correctly because fluff doesn't sell without the basics. Of course it's their ship to sail so we'll see how it goes.
