So I just had a match in Forest Colony using my dual PPC Dragon as sniper, got from base and waited by the ridge overlooking the water close to the dual pipes you can go through. I saw two enemies in the water about 600m out and unloaded, but they were also snipers so they fired back. Here is the strange part: I was backing up to get in cover again and I was hit by 3-4 shots from both guys while moving and every shot went directly to my left torso. Exactly the point where the majority of my weapon points are. Well that's strange I thought and continued playing. Then 20 secs later I saw an atlas coming around one of the mountains about 400m in the water, I fired off and he shoots back and guess what? Two shots both once again on my left torso and I died since I have an XL engine. Not even a scratch on the rest of my mech, every shot at the left torso from 3 different guys at 400-600m out. AFAIK it's actually fairly small side torsos on the dragon, the CT is a lot bigger and usually hit first. Coincidence? I think not. So has anyone else encountered some strange things while playing?

If it only happened to you in one game just chalk it up to one of those weird coincidences before you start tossing around accusations of cheating.

Now if it happened to you five games in a row, then you'd have a problem worth mentioning.

And besides, if you're going to start implying that people are using aimbots, why didn't they just aim for your cockpit?

That's happened to me before. They were just good shots.

Since I'm not going to face the same guys time and again, I don't see how it could happen multiple times in a row unless everyone is cheating. So your statement doesn't really make any sense. As for why not cockpit, to make it less suspicious would be one reason.

Right Im sorry to put this out there but some of us have been playing for a long time and have all the perks the game can offer.
These perks can help us see a target for longer and also where they're damaged the most... So we aim for those parts and cripple the mech OR it goes boom!

Its just unfair advantage untill match making comes aound and its been a while waiting...

Multiple shots at a small area on your mech and only there from as far as 600m while you're moving?

I've been about one volley killed in a Hunchback by a gauss-laden mech from far away, but it was only one time. Just a lucky cockpit shot. I've also been clearly struck by an AC weapon and it did zero damage, more than once. Hope that one gets fixed.

In this one match some guy name Berrychunks or something kept trying to get me into the back of his van. Pretty suspicious **** if you ask me.

There is no mention of someone cheating in the thread. They only asked if someone else had the same experience.

It's true I have just played about a month, but seriously to pinpoint a small side torso at 600m on a moving target with the amount of zoom we're playing with, no I don't think that's something you can do reliably.

Yes.
The shot you are describing isn't actually that hard a shot to make.

So then I suppose he wants to know how often we've ran into people who are good shots then, huh?

yesterday I was instantly headshotted by a dual AC20 Cat... I had 100% 'health' and he only damaged my cockpit, according to the death stats.

I gave him props for a great shot! Flukes happen, but some players are definitely skilled :)

You got some homemade zoom you're using? At that range I don't think my side torso would even be a pixel wide.

One shot sure, I have no problems with that. But multiple ones on a moving target that far away, really?

I'll spell it out for you to make absolutely certain you understand (but in all honesty I think you're intentionally playing dumb):

If you play games where everybody is hitting you in the cockpit over multiple games (not necessarily in a row) then yes, MWO has a problem keeping cheaters in line and they are everywhere.

If you only have one game where a few guys manage to hit you in the same place, then you just ran into some guys who were good shots.

If the game were hackable to the point of being able to use an aimbot, many different people would have figured it out by now.

I'm sorry but with max 4x zoom at that distance you can't pinpoint aim someone, you'll be too small to differ center torso to side torso. Just try it next time on someone 600m out. I'm not being dumb at all, you on the other hand suggested a dumb way to discern if what happened to me was suspicious or not. Besides hacking has to start small somewhere, you just don't start with a huge amount of players all hacking at once.

There's a reason the dragon is such a poor mech.

I've sniped people further out than that. Granted, I can't consistently make shots like that, but it's do-able. And I regularly group up with guys who are able to shoot that well consistently. You had a run of bad luck is all.

Go play another 20 games and let us know if it ever happens again.
