If you walk into a fight with missing armor, critted heatsinks, or missing ammunition, you are being a liability. I always fully R&R my mech, even when I have to spend 80K on ammunition.
Of course, I have premium time. not everyone has as much bonus C-bills as I do; But a fully armed mech has a greater chance of winning than a damaged mech, and winning gives you significantly more CB than losing.

What Redshift said. R&R keeps you alive longer.
As soon as the first mech drops it may start a cascade that is rally difficult to recover from unless there are good pilots on the team.

always, the mech that is already orange and low on ammo going in, is just going to get in the way, but not in a good way
