Why you no add me as friend? T_T

Yeah 260-280 ping as well from Singapore. To compensate just

1. Learn to play face hugger/close combat Atlas (my main)
2. LRM Atlas with Artemis works this patch or Streakcat
3. Learn to lead target

México here, about 130 - 150 ms... Playing light is a pain... light vs light = streaks...

bigger mechs are better usually... but high speed mechs are one of a kind laggy battles xD

Oooh. I quoted due: " Y U no add me as well? " xD

I've learned to lag-shoot with my minimum 250ms latency.

The fact that I've learned to do it does not change the fact that it ******* sucks.

Being in australia as well, i have learnt quickly a big tip the helps with laser shooting. Using a tag or medium laser to lead your target works well, once you get tha red glow on the reticule unleash the rest of the salvo. Its unfortunate but i have found using normal lasers instead of pulse allows me to 'walk' onto the target alot easier and has improved my damage output ingame immensly.

European player here, on the worst mobile broadband provider we have in denmark, no issues with ping or fps, a little lagshield for the Jenners, but hey its beta.

If you really enjoy gaming and do it enough for this to "ruin your day/life" ( QQ ) get a better Rig, upgrade, i spent two months welfare ( yes im unemployed and live off pasta and canned beans for the sake of this ) on my new computer solely to play this at an enjoyable level.

in short; If it is important enough for you to play the beta AND complain in the forums, do something about it by investing in better equipment.

That has zip to do with it. It's pure distance to server that's the problem not equipment.

The netcode is far from optimized as I see bouncing Jenner's and Commado's all the time. That means the server is not keeping up and reporting the action properly. It's the same problem I used to see in WoTNA until they got their netcode sorted. PGI have a much tougher job however with the multitude of weapons systems and fire angles by mech's having free moving arms and different convergence points.

That's what makes it hard for high pingers. Anyone can lag shoot and do ~okay~, but trying to compensate for arm convergence is a nightmare. Torso weapons seem much easier to hit with. I've given up on A/C weapons on arms pretty much altogether.

Until the netcode is sorted it's streaks and LRM's for me.

Also in Australia.
Ping ranges from 280-300ms.

A TV show did a demonstration about our internet speeds here where they had someone try to download a file from a server 50 or 100km away and then had a homing pigeon carrying a memory stick deliver the same data in a race. The pigeon won.

300ms ping is another reason to keep using streakcat :D

I live on the west coast of the US with a very high speed cable connection. 115ms.

Look, all the servers are in the US for now because the game hasn't launched yet and they don't have funds or the infrasctucture for international servers. Get over it. Ther servers are "here" for now, and that's why you have the long ping. If that doesn't make sense, then I can see why you would further complain about the ping.

Wait until they have international servers before "complaining" about international ping. That's like "complaining" that the garden-fresh tomatoes picked in oregon doen't seem to taste freshly-picked when sold in Australian supermarkets.

Some US players feel the sting too. I average about 120ms or so down here in Los Angeles. This is generally playable, but fast lights are still near impossible to focus down with lateral movement.

I had a Commando start rubber-banding as he circle jerked me, he front hard to hit, to impossible to find his server ghost. I mean I searched with lasers from him to way out in front of him, almost off screen...no hit detected...but his Streaks had no problem pounding me.

Between that and sketchy FPS, Im finding Im needing to drag myself to my computer to play now. I give myself an hour beofre I have to head out to work.

See, the problem is this: Why is this game so backward that ping is such a huge decider? I play BF3 with 280 ping and I'm still doing fine. But here, LOLNOPE YOU MISSED BY 600 MILES.

Personally, I have learnt to adapt somewhat to the high ping and lagshoot. Still, I can't really get reliable hits using anything besides lasers if I'm not moving in a straight line relative to the target, which is why I stick to beams/streaks.

However, the problem I have is more with other players. I had just started a new match when someone on my team starts mouthing off and insulting anyone who has a ping of over 200, ranting about how we are "wrecking the game for everybody else" and how we should just log out and stop playing. I was this close to friendly firing and just taking the teamkill penalty.

Well excuuuuse me, but some of us want to play this game and can't exactly help our pings. It's not like we can't do just as well as the rest after practice.

Meh, ignore him. Ping has nothing to do with being a good player. It only makes some things more challenging.

We're all really happy for you, makes us all warm and fuzzy that you have such great internet.

BUT, we're here to point out that our experience isn't so great and when time comes to roll out international servers we'd really like PGI to keep us in mind. If we take your advice PGI may think every one down here is happy with the status quo and not consider a regional server in this part of the world.

PS to the best of my knowledge our supermarkets don't sell Oregon Tomatos, probably not worth it for them to get past our quarantine laws.

I play from South Africa on a 2mbit ADSL line, 285ms ping, and I do fine as a brawler. One of my mates has a 4LL sniper, he does great. It's not as sensitive to ping as a true FPS. Netcode is a bit iffy for everyone, but lag isn't too much of an issue.

Heh, I'm in California with the same ping as you.
Not too bad, though I can't hit lights with ballistics apart from the odd lucky shot.
