I don't know if this has happened to anyone else but it has happened to me 4 times so far.

I am fighting in a match and I go over the heat limit. It goes into shutdown mode as normal but when the mech powers back up sometimes the shutdown notice dosen't dissapere. It stays up on the screen. The mech can still look around, move and shoot, but there is no HUD or anything else.

I wish I had a screenshot but it happens randomly so I never have time to prepare for it and by the time I would have it ready I woud be dead. So, does anyone have a solution to this?

Try powering down then powering back up. I think that's the temporary solution.

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?" Jokes aside, Bleyz' method seems to be the only solution at the moment. It really sucks when you're in the middle of combat though.

It consistently happens to me when taking ballistic damage while powering on after the overheat. I haven't been able to see if its all damage or just ballistic. Really frustrating when you can't effectively shootback and the only way to recover is to shutdown and be a sitting duck while going through the power cycle. It never fails, I get my HUD back after forcing power down and restart just in time to see that my torso is red and then boom, dead.

I experienced the same about 4 or 5 times.
Reboot the mech looks to fix it, but not good when you are in a close combat...

Besides the power down and up option, try manage your heat and you can avoid the bug. That aside, I rarely overheat in my dragon.
